IT DOESN'T MATTER if you agree. I'm TELLING you what it is. First of all this really isn't a fair comparison because Weidman and Rockhold are from half a generation before Adesanya and Costa. Adesanya and Costa are soo good because Luke and Chris came before them. The fact of the matter is that the Brazilian and the Ni-Zealander would mop the floor with the American former champs because they've been training to beat those type of guys their entire short careers.
Some people say that when Weidman and Rockhold faced off that night was the strongest the 185 division has EVER been. Personally I don't agree with that and I believe a strong case can be made for todayto contenders. But even if that were true, Weidman and Rockhold weren't necessarily the 2 best 185ers. Yoel was ALWAYS there. Jacare was there. Even Mousasi was there.
With Adesanya vs. Costa you have 2 young, hungry, undefeated beast. Their striking is on a much higher level than Chris and Luke. People. May disagree because of the grappling prowess of Weidman and Rockhold but their grappling would not be AND wasn't good enough to keep them at the top. And both Adesanya and Costa would shrug off their td attempts. So says the Goshishun warrior!!!
