Elections AG Barr authorizes probes of election fraud claims

The main issue I have is that Barr has shown himself to be completely untrustworthy.

Examples? What has he done?

While his memo is a directive authorizing federal prosecutors to do this, the fact that he’s personally involved himself personally in certain cases in odd ways doesn’t give me much comfort.

Sounds kind of paranoid.

It'll be entertaining when Trump fires Barr when he doesn't find anything substantial enough to overturn the result.

It's funny how he's proven right based upon zero evidence whatsoever, because you guys have a hunch. Debunked CT after debunked CT lie at your feet, and still. As if we haven't seen Barr pull shit like this out of his ass time and time again, only to hear jack shit when it all pans out to nothing. LOL

Is the investigation finished? You've seen all the evidence or lack thereof?

So they're authorized to do their job as they normally would?

This is it!

I've seen Trump's lawyers get bitched slapped 9 times in a row with absurd cases that fell apart with even the least bit of scrutiny, along with a massive host of odd and foolish conspiracy theories by your ilk.......

Here we go, GOP trying to overthrow our democracy.

Anyone who thinks there is even a SLIGHT CHANCE Trump wins is a fucking IDIOT. There is no evidence and President Chump was beaten soundly. It wasn't even that fucking close, it just took longer to count the votes due to obvious reasons, unless you are a retard and still don't understand.

Even if it was possible there'd be all out civil war if after this much time of Biden winning they switched it to Trump. The redneck states would get their bitch asses beat again, just like the 1st Civil War:). Not that this will ever happen, just saying.

I agree that substantial allegations should be evidence. Substantial being those that have substance.

Well, you do have actual poll workers coming forward with claims of wrongdoing. It's not just some dude on the street claiming this. It's worth looking into. Even if the end result isn't an Earth shattering election flip, I don't know what the big deal is. It should be looked into.

If the shoe was on the other foot, and poll workers were coming forward with allegations of wrongdoing after Biden had lost, are you gonna claim that you wouldn't be for a thorough investigation? Let it happen, and believe in the process.

Lol I can’t tell if you’re fucking with me or not. Did you know about this task force? Trump was trying to get all sorts of personal info on voters. Fortunately most state governors wouldn’t provide it, and told him to fuck himself.

I remember it in passing.

Trump supporters want a full redo of the election.

Constitutional federal republic. Checks and balances.
I have zero problems with checks and balances. The election should be valid. I have a problem with a guy who's made no bones about being in Trumps pocket leading the department doing the investigation.

Yep I agree

I think everyone is expecting it that Trump is such a poor loser, but if there's substantial allegations then they should be heard fairly.

Have there been any polls to estimate how many Republicans think Trump won if only the "legal" votes were counted?

I would guess between 20 to 50 percent of Republicans think Trump won the election if it wasn't rigged but it is just a guess.

What has he done? Shit, I’ll try not to write you a novel. Since being appointed, Barr has done everything possible to invalidate the findings and results in Mueller’s investigation.
-Purposely did not publish summaries of the Mueller Report and instead published his own summary, which distorted what the investigation found. This summary was what the public saw first, and what the first news reports were based on. This biased summary prompted criticism from a federal judge

and Mueller himself.

-Barr is dropping the charges against Russian nationals indicted for interfering in our elections—and not because he thinks they’re innocent.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/ju...-drop-its-prosecution-2-firms-linked-n1161886
-Personally inserted himself into Michael Flynn’s case to try and get Flynn out of the charges that he (Flynn) voluntarily plead guilty to. His actions in that case drew rebukes from 1100 former prosecutors.

-Personally interfering in the sentencing of Roger Stone. Again, thousands of prosecutors criticized his actions. One prosecutor actually on the Stone case withdrew over this to testify against Barr in the House.

And just a couple of weeks ago, 1600 former Justice Dept lawyers warned that Barr was trying to help Trump in the election.

And here we are...

Attorney General Barr has sent a memo authorizing federal prosecutors across the U.S. to pursue “substantial allegations” of voting irregularities, if they exist, before the 2020 presidential election is certified.

While I think we all agree that election fraud should be prevented and punished where applicable, this is an unusual step considering the lack of concrete evidence of any widespread fraud.
In light of some of Barr’s actions regarding the Russia investigation, and considering that an ex federal prosecutor warned of Barr’s potential meddling a couple of weeks back, there are some troubling questions regarding Barr’s motives.

How do you feel about this, and what do we think will come of it?

How exactly do you criticize Barr, when they found the FBI falsifying evidence?
