I am looking for something to take after my workouts to help with recovery, build lean muscle, and keep my appetite down so I wont eat bad foods. I am a Chef and I workout and then go to work and Im usually starving when I get there. I try to eat low fat, high protein foods but when your tasting different things and youre really hungry its hard not to eat too much fatty food. I dont know if whey protein shakes will help satisfy my appetite. I was hoping I could get some suggestions and info.

    Here is my info:

    33 yrs old
    5'8"
    195 lbs.

I workout 3-5 days a week doing MMA
1-2 hours BJJ and 1 hour boxing or MT

Days I cant make it to MMA classes I do weight training for 2-3 hrs.

I usually take 1 or 2 days off a week, no workout

I take 2-4g. creatine 45 min. before workouts

I have lifted weights and done the usuall eliptical/bike cardio for a few years but just started MMA 3 months ago. I have lost 15lbs. in those three months. I did lose a bit of muscle mass but mostly body fat. I would like to stay strong and lose that extra fat Im still holding on to.

    Thanks for any help,
    Bill

check out the shake thread for some good shake recipes. i like:

    1/2 cup oatmeal
    1 scoop strawberry whey
    1 handful spinach
    3 icecubes

    blend and enjoy

if you dont want to use whey try half a grain bagel with natural peanut butter, a large glass of milk and a greens supplement. there are a ton of good PWO meals
