A member of parliament for Germany’s far-right AfD party was severely beaten in the street in Bremen on Monday evening in what police said was probably a politically motivated attack.

Frank Magnitz, who is also the AfD’s Bremen chairman, was seriously injured by three masked men who knocked him out with a piece of wood and kicked him in the head as he lay on the ground, the AfD’s branch in the city said in a statement on Facebook. A passing construction worker stepped in to end the attack, the party said....

Dude is such a Nazi that hes married to a turkish woman

Civilized political discourse is definitely on the wane , shame because this sort of thing is the result .

No excuse for this. Hope these people get caught fast and punished harshly.

Via Google Translate:

Politicians of all parties condemned the attack and demanded a punishment of the perpetrators. The "brutal attack" was "to be condemned sharply" wrote government spokesman Steffen Seibert on Tuesday at Twitter. He added, "Hopefully the police will be able to catch the perpetrators quickly." SPD leader Andrea Nahles stated: "The AfD is a political opponent of our tolerant and peaceful society." But those who "violently fight the party and its politicians betray these values and jeopardize our coexistence".

The leadership of the AFD faction in the Bundestag said the attack was "the result of the incitement of politicians and the media."

The AfD statement is bullshit imo considering those who did this likely needed no further encouragement. But there has been a rise in highly covered attacks on both sides in recent months. Local politicians of the middle and left have been attacked for their stance in refugee politics. Just days ago, a guy in Bottrop and Essen repeatedly tried to run over migrants with his car, injuring several people, among them a 4 year old.

So the victim narrative of the AfD is not entirely true, but I can only repeat that there is no excuse for this and people here will see it like that for sure.

Bremen is a special place anyway. It is like Berlin, but without the glamour of a capital and metropolis. It is pretty far left, and its streets are ruled by Lebanese clans. Considering Magnitz is spreading - to formulate it neutrally - strong anti-Islam opinions, the attack could certainly come from there.

You can thank the left, this is how they operate.

Hopefully this raises the guy's popularity the same way it did Bolsonaro when another far left cretin stabbed him.

No. The clans don't fear politicians. We both know who did this.

Why do people keep painting this picture that Antifa represents the entire left and then get pissed when people on the right are called Nazis? They are fringe extremists who don´t represent everyone on that side of the political spectrum. It´s lazy and quite frankly fucking stupid.
Antifa folks are pseudo commies/Che loving dipshits. A fringe minority denounced by both sides (at least in western europe)...

No doubt there is a strong Antifa scene in Bremen. And I agree it is likely the source. I am not saying the clans fear this rather meaningless AfD guy. He may have angered them, still.

What did the right do in Germany, hurt people's feelings?

I don´t know. They might have hurt some feelings. Ohh there was also this dude named Adolf and his followers that did a few bad things.
Germany has quite the history in regards to political violence.

There were good people on both sides of the holocaust .

Once again showing the left are the true fascists.

Antifa is being financed by Merkel. She will be held accountable for her many crimes sooner than she thinks.

Took one construction worker to end the attack...shows what fucking pussys antifa or whoever’s responsible for this are.
