I am looking to buy UFC - NY tickets but saw they aren't for sale on the main UFC site.

I saw however they are on sale on other websites... So I called one and he told me they have tickets through other vendors and that's why they have them so early.

I've never heard of this before. Does anyone have experience purchasing tickets through one of these alternate vendor sites? And if so is it recommended or should I wait for it to become available on the UFC website?

    Thanks.

I got mine from scalpers outside the event.

I live in UK but it seems standard practice to sell tickets through vendors rather than direct. In batches, shows make a profit and don't have to deal with the consumer/customer service issues.

However, I believe you should be able to get a list of genuine retailers simply by emailing UFC help and requesting their approved selling points.

Used the link on the UFC website, took me to Ticket Master, got tix through them twice- for the card this last weekend (Chicago) and last July in Chicago as well.

I used the Ticket Master app... the app saved my tix in it and I showed the employees at the United Center my phone... worked out pretty well.

I would try to keep an eye on the dates the UFC says tix will go on sale... ussually and email presale code goes out if you're on their mailing list... and if not I've heard you can use the code UFCSOCIAL for the presale the day before public sale.

Sorry if I'm flappin gums too much. Hope this helps. Best of luck and have a awesome time @ the event.

That's how you get tickets for most sports events or concerts. I've never bought them from the official website.

    Not at all.

The reason why they always announce "Sold out" and when the camera pans, the place has a lot of empty seats, is that scalpers buy reams of tickets at a discount and then try to sell them for what they can get for them at the door.

I've only seen it for the actual ticket price, not less though, even if you show up late. Seems they would rather take the loss than train customers to go late for a discount.

Now, I imagine for truly "sold out" shows, where there is a high demand, they may get more for them, but I never saw one of those.

If they get a 33% discount they only have to sell over 2/3 of their tickets and everything else is profit.
