Advice for a new Bike Courier?

I'm thinking about getting a part time job as a Bike Courier in the daytime to work on my cardio before I start my full time job. I've never done something like this before, and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this?

The job is mainly to improve my cardio and get paid for it, since I spend most of my time on free-weights at the gym.

watch out for cars mostly if your in the city. they will not see you and you will be hit. get some insurance in case you do get hit...

Are you going to ride a fixed gear bike?

If you've never done anything like that before, and you don't like it at first, don't give up. Your body will hurt at first, mainly you butt. It one of these things you have to get in shape to be able to get in shape.

How much do you ride now?

You DID say you have never done something like this before.....

I used to live in San Francisco and knew a lot of bike messengers. Every single one of them has been hit by a car at least once.
