    December in Quebec City, Canada
    Both fought last week-end.
Alvarez is rank #1 contender in the WBC ranking for a while now
They have the same promoter (GYM - Groupe Yvon Michel)

That might be the best opponent Adonis will face since winning the title Vs Chad Dawson

    Adonis "Superman" Stevenson
    (28-1-0-23 ko's)
Rank #2 by the Ring Magazine at 175lbs

    Vs

    Eleider "Storm" Alvarez
    (20-0-0-10 ko's)
Rank #4 by the Ring Magazine at 175lbs

    I got Stevenson winning again.
Alvarez is overrated in my opinion
Don't understand why Ring Magazine ranked him above
Andre Ward, Artur Beterbiev, Jürgen Braehmer.

    Still a great fight.
Will be in the building again for that one.

Oh, the guy that beat in the title eliminator the guy that Kovalev chose to fight instead.
lelz, even official wins don't matter these days.
Alvarez himself beat a bum to get this title shot tho, oh the layers of irony.
Is this a statement by Superman though?

    No by the promoter.
They wanted to do Alvarez Vs Jean Pascal before Adonis, but Pascal signed with another promoter a few days ago.

    GOOD!
Tired of seeing Pascal getting gifts.
If he wanted a titleshot again, and left Yvon's promotion cause he didn't wanna do an eliminator, then fuck him.
Who he signed under now btw, couldn't find/.

They target a return for Jean Pascal for November in Montreal.

The front runner to face him is Sullivan Barrera 17-1-0-12 ko's

    (sorry in french again)

Not even a PBC Spike level card.

Eleider put a snooze fest against a smaller club fighter on a few days notice with jet lag.

Alvarez has never impressed me, but he has the resume to make this a halfway relevant LHW fight. Stevenson should run through him.

Based on their recent performances, you have to favor Stevenson heavily in this one...

I agree, Alvarez just looks ordinary, yet his on-paper record is definitely respectable.

    Credible defence.

Oh the crushing futility of being a boxing fan.
