give him someone in the top 5 who is well rounded and can really test this guys grappling and overall fighting skills. I know they said the winner was getting a title shot but with Rob and Kelvin not even fighting yet i doubt that happens.

This seems like the natural progression of things. its a winnable fight for both. Chris is already on record saying hes over rated. If Adesanya is who he is suppose to be he will KO Chris. I personally think Chris finishes him. Who ya got?
 
I think Weidman takes that one from what I saw on Saturday
 
Chris is never gonna take the fight. One loss is gonna destroy the credibility of his 2 best wins.
 
Chris takes it imo, I think it'll be similar to the Vettori fight but mroe technical and with a sub/dec win for Weidman.
 
Weidman will not get a title shot

so I say yes, do it

Kelvin will probably wait for Robert

and you still have Romero/Costa as contenders

didnt i see you post this in regards to a fight with the spider too?

first of all no way is chris not going to fight a few guys because he wants to protect two old ass wins.
secondly, even if he did lose it wouldnt erase all of the great things he was able to acomplish, maybe in YOUR mind..but not in reality
and third....he doesnt think he would lose to izzy or anderson. He already called him over rated lol. Hes not even that hard of a match up for him out of everyone in the top 5-7

Weidman doesn’t deserve that fight. Dude looks like shit since USADA so juiced Weidman is no more.

so you think the currently ranked no 5 former champion needs a win before gettign a fight with no 6?

this is about adesanya making his climb up the rankings. Its either him or Jacare. I dont feel like he has earned Jacare yet

hes ranked above adesanya. This is about izzy taking his spot...not about chris. I just happen to think chris would win

He should be fighting the Brunsons of the MW division for the Gatekeeper Belt.

Adesanya vs Jacare makes sense.
 
Are you trying to get Chris killed?
He needs to fight lower tier guys.. and get his confidence built back up.

yeah the guy who beat the 15th ranked fighter and the 8th ranked fighter at MW should fight number 5 next. hes currently number 6. I personally want to see him fight vs someone who will test his wrestling. Jacare is just going to plod forward and either get picked apart or land a bomb and win...we have already seen izzy in tons of fights like this. this isnt about chris its about IZZY. i love how people are making it about a former champ earning a fight with a mostly untested contender ranked behind him..

lets see his wrestling tested,his fight IQ tested. Jacare isnt exactly a tough puzzle although he is a great fighter. Plus..wediman hasnt looked horrible in his losses and they are vs the truly elite fighters in the world.

I would bet on chris in this fight. adesanya is amazing but hes not anywhere near as proven as the guys chris as lost too...plus, im not sure he has the power to put chris away like these other guys did.

edit i just checked..it looks like he did attempt some wrestling vs kevlin but im sure you get the point... Hes not going to test izzy's overall game the way chris will.

Brunson is a decent wrestler and couldnt land a takedown to save his life against Adesanya. He got the clinch but Izzy showed good balance and leverage.
Weidman is a better wrestler.. but to say that Adesanya wrestling has not been tested is not true.

Weidman is 1-4 in his last 5 with all the loses being pretty violent. They should give him easier fights to build him back up.

And this is coming from #1 Weidman hater in this forum. If it was for me they should book him against Whittaker so Rob can take his head clean off.
 
Gritty fighters will be Israel's hardest opponents, but at this point I don't think The Chris is durable enough
