Adesanya is a huge PPV draw

I was rather surprised at how loud the crowd was during the weigh ins and pre fight press conference.
Izzy is a bigger star than I realized.

Vs. Jan Blachowicz they did 800,000 buys.

Vs. Costa they did 700,000

They probably did over a million last Saturday with Nate attached to the card.

The crowd loved him.

Im not a fan of his attention grabbing antics. And neither are most people.

But it’s working.

Antics and Acting out gets you attention in entertainment and that gets you paid.

No one knows who Sakuraba is.

Few people know who Machida is.
He gives the fans a reason to watch.

machida, for as exciting as he was, he has the most bland personality and no charisma.

Some fighters, when given a chance to tell the fans why they should tune in, just say “my skills do the talking”

instead of saying something as easy as “tune in to watch me destroy this opponent” with a bot of energy ad base in their voice.

I don't knkw whether he's a draw or not, but I respect Izzy's skills and how active he is.

We have no idea what the PPV numbers are. The source from the linked article is a writer for SBJ saying, verbatim "I'm told it did 800,000 buys."

Since the ESPN deal, we really don't know. Occasionally we get a reference to it from Disney.

The lockdowns heavily skewed the numbers. Usman vs Masvidal did 1.2 million buys the rematch did 700k and that drop off was with less bars being reopened and stricter capacities than now. I don't know why you would think Israel's numbers would improve fighting Vetori if a highly anticipated rematch loses 500k with shit reopening.
