I'd rather have Khabib vs. Poirier in Sept anyway
Good, dude has been fighting non stop but hopefully the UFC lets him have his time off, he deserves it.
Now even interim champs can't wait to not fight...
I assume Dana will strip him of the interim belt and create an interim interim belt.
Strip him....Am i doing it right?
Translation: Kelvin's power frightened me and I need enough time and therapy to recover
Early November is a perfect time for his comeback IMO.
If Whittaker pulls out of another fight, they should strip him ASAP and crown Adesanya the champ
Dude has time to rest and lick his wounds now. September is quite a ways away.
At latest he should be fighting in October.
Watched the interview. Ariel asked him was he planning to fight in July-August, obviously said he needed more time to rest..
Could see him returning in October.
Dana is not happy
ufc isn't going to risk losing a huge Australia/NZ card. they'll give both these guys as much time as they want.
He should rest. He got punched in the face hard, many times, swollen up.
All fighters should.
aka I’m scared of rob and I hope someone beats him while I’m away
He got that chin cracked
So Gastelum vs Yoel for the interim interim continental MW-1A+2.34b title next!
Adesanya mentioned on the post fight show that he would like some time off, not only to recover but also to put in more time in the gym to take his game to the next level by honing his craft.
He has had a crazy year. But 5 months is pretty reasonable. If he wants to keep the belt he’ll have to fight.
I can’t see them letting him not fight when Whittaker is ready to go. After what happened with Colby, I wonder if he’s just testing the limits here? Seeing if he has the juice to delay it a bit? Because certainly another cpl months rest, and preparation wouldn’t hurt Adensanya.
Smart decision. He earned a few more months of recovery if he needs it.
Dude has fought 6 times since Feb 2018.
