Hello,

1. When talking to someone I am imagining me elbowing them in the face, or getting them in a clinch and then proceeding to knee them.

2. I take my gear wherever I go, and am always looking for opportunities to spar or train (especially at my parents house with my brothers).

3. I look at K-1 and Muay Thai fights while at work!

4. I dream about me training.

5. When I talk to my wife I am checking kicks, and low kicking her (dont kick her hard at all).

6. I get really stressed out when I dont train for two days (feel that everyone else is ahead of me).

Do any of you experience these symptoms??????? hehe

OOOOK, I suggeast you look into a psychiatrist, in my opinion you are displaying symptoms of OCD, what happens is you develop disturbing, obsessive thoughts that cause fear or anxiety, like you get when your not training. In order to rid yourself of these thoughts and relieve the fear, you perform rituals such as fighting with family( your brothers) or leg checking or kicking your wife. The rituals or behaviors become time-consuming and have a significant impact on your daily life.

Prozac & Luvox ae ussual medications for OCD!!! See your doctor, pray to God and things will be fine. I hope I was help.

LOL, I am just jealous your in vegas and I am in NYC, why I am being so mean!!! LOL enjoy your training!!!

where do you train? and yes i have experienced some of those conditions.

don't burn yourself out
That is accually good advice, even though you did not say much!!! if your a newb to MT, you can burn your self out easy and possibly hurt yourself if you over do it, take it slow, dont obsess over it, the slower you go the better fighter you will be, if your new to it better to work on perfecting your form and technique it plays a vital role in your training. Wok pads, cardio, and shadow boxing, the shadow boxing in my opinion is the most important factor to training ( some might disagree) you get to improve your technique that way by shadow boxing. But the most important factor is progressing slowly and not rushing it. But my philosophy of MT is diffrent from others.

i do every single one of those thing extremely badly except for bringing my training gear, I actually gotten my best mate in a thai clinch and kneed him and threw him on the ground, and i go into crazy obsessive freaks outs where i storm out of the house angry cuz I'm not training

We did a thread like this forever ago about ways to know you're doing too much Martial Arts. I posted shit like:

- You throw kicks at your pets' faces, and if they don't flinch and/or run away you say to them "You have the Warrior Spirit."

- You think the moves from Dragonball Z are something to aspire to.

- You close every door in your house with kicks or punches.

- When you kick and punch doors closed you "Kia" or "Sss."

- You can't just cut the tape on cardboard boxes to flatten them, you have to see if you can bust it with one kick or punch.

- You've either punched or headbutted your siblings at random, and the more hurt they were the funnier you thought it was.

- You shadowbox regardless of where you are. And when people say "Hey what style do you do?" You say "what?" Because you didn't realize you were doing it and how they know you do anything.

- Often times when in stores you're either limping or have to tell the staff "hey, can you get that for me?" when it's something above your head because you can't lift your arms from punching so much during training.

- You have a tendency to elbow or knee random corners or door-jams of rooms when just standing around talking to people.

- You have a heavybag in your house and literally have to hit it every single time you walk by it. And if you live with other people it annoys the shit out of them.

I could go on forever...

Hey MTW, where do you train at? I heard really good things about 1-kick Nick's here in Vegas but it's like REEEEEEAL far from where I live.

i constantly leg check my girlfriend, and i'm not even training MT, i used to, but now im in BJJ

i usually do a front leg check, followed by a firm power-check, i may even come up to her and knee her in the front of the thigh, am i crazy? No

lol i remember kneeing her too hard and leaving her limping for 2 weeks, good times..

lol, this one time I kneed a girl in the cookie while sparring...

Oh yeah, there's also if you've been kicked out of more than one public place for sparring there.

You know, Malls, Bowling Alleys, Restaurants...

I do that stuff all the time. I'm not one to go around looking for trouble, but when I am out in public and see someone who might look tough I think about how I'd take them out.

It's perfectly normal, healthy behaviour. Come back to us in two weeks time when you've done in your shin after kicking the fridge.

hehe that is too true and funny!!

I fucking know what you mean, my gf always gets mad at me because I always legkick her while shes talking to me. One left, one right...

I also always do some moves everytime I see myself in the mirror, thats led to some embarrising situations in public restrooms.
