Super Fight:

Gordon Ryan vs André Galvão

And if we can share info on the DM's, that would be great.

Is it possible to win matches by not engaging on the ground?

Similar to the strategy Bo Nickal used against Gordon Ryan and Mark Kerr used back in the day.

Basically score the odd takedown and then defend takedowns/guard pulls?

I’m not certain, so maybe someone can clarify, but in theory I think you would be penalized for stalling. A couple people have received point deductions for stalling.

Ryan vs Pena 4 today?

Damn is this year’s ADCC really that good or do I just understand grappling better? This event has been fantastic.

The meta is changing, I haven't seen a leglock so far (haven't seen all the matches though).

Diego Oliveira defeats Keith Krikorian via Submission – Straight Ankle-lock

Roosevelt Sousa defeats Joao Rocha via Submission – Heelhook

I’ve been pretty busy so I haven’t seen ALL of the leg locks attempts, but Tonon tried a heel hook as a Hail Mary before he lost by points.

But you’re very right. Leg locks are not en vogue this year. It’s been a lot of back takes, head control/choke attempts, passing, and arm locks.

so far the Majority of the subs have been RNC or armbar. the game has changed. I love to see it.

Craig looking great going into tomorrow.

Meregali still looking good too, but his last decision could have gone either way.

And of course there were 2 more leglock finishes right after I wrote my reply.

That Mica armbar was fire, hot damn.

Dude. Day 1 was fantastic. Def the best grappling event out of all of them in my opinion. Not sure if tomorrow can do any better. But at least there are a ton of interesting match ups.

The pacing was so good. One fight ends and immediately you hop on the next one. Except that last Vagner Rocha one, fuck me it sucked so much.

I thought Yuri won that match against Meregali, but it could have gone either way.

I’m digging O’Flanagan, and I’m rooting for him.

I know Vagner catches shit for being boring/stalling/his antics or whatever, but as a 40+ guy it’s cool to see another 40 year old out there winning at the highest level and taking it to these young bucks. Vagner looked like he could have kept going and, Marinho looked done.

Not following adcc much (or pure grappling in general) nowadays.

But surprised Kennedy, Cobrinha's son, was put out.

I feel like that should be viable to some extent, to make the ability to actually bring people to the ground a relevant part of sport grappling.

Without spoiling the names, that early armbar was nice.
I caught some highlights here and there Are you referring to the addition of heel kicks to the grounded opponent in ADCC in the mens division?
