What I found suprising while doing this is that I've always heard how great Jeff Monson was in ADCC. And I'm sure he was at HW, but he went 0 - 3 - 0 in open weight.

And Fabricio is only 5 - 3 with one Bronze.

I was impressed that Hayato Sakurai managed to metal. I knew he was decent on the ground, I didn't know he was that good considering how out-sized he was the whole competition.

BTW, at some point ADCC started giving a Bronze medal to 4th place even though they lost out to the third place guy. I didn't include them when I said "Bronze medal" for a fighter. Only for the guy that actually won third place.

I noticed the same thing as well. Mach fought at WW and lower most of his MMA career, for him to be able to do so well at ADCC is a pretty huge accomplishment.

Mark Kerr is 4-0-0 and has a Gold, pretty awesome.

I wanted to give this thread at least one more revive before letting it sink to oblivian.

just curious, what amount do grapplers get paid at ADCC if they win gold, silver, etc? Because i've seen some tournaments that aren't well known give out quite a bit in prize money

edit: also thanks for the records, Werdum is awesome. one of the most successful mma, bjj practitioners out there.

I'm not sure how much they get paid. But it has been fun doing research on grappling records. And as I do it, I keep finding more grappling tournaments that are pretty big that I didn't even realize existed. Like FIVE Grappling League which apparently puts on PPV's. I'll have to do their records next, but I haven't found out where to find results (their own results page doesn't seem to work).
