ADCC 2015 Both Days Total Submissions

Here’s my breakdown of the ADCC 2015 finishes for both days. Because of the variable camera coverage, there are definitely a few question marks below. If you can fill in any of those blanks please post the correct finish and likewise if you think I screwed anything up. I’ll update numbers as we go.

But first let’s look at the 2011 and 2013 numbers for comparison.

Breakdown for ADCC 2013:

-1 point for guard pulling. Very large portions of some matches resulted in two guys attempting weak snapdowns and single legs in order to land a TD that they were scared to fully commit to due to the lopsided point system.

ADCC 2013 hinted at this potentially being a problem, 2015 confirmed it. Rules need changing

No triangles either. Not any traditional ones at least. Also when was the last time there was an omoplata or arm crush/telephone armbar? Also I don't know if I've ever seen a no arm triangle ever actually been finished either.

Would arm crush and telephone be the same as what I have heard called the straight armbar or razor or Marcellos inverted? If by chance we mean the same thing. Dean Lister pulled a great inverted armbar from butterfly this year in the first round.

Yeah. Same thing. I've heard it called a a ton of over the years. Reverse/inverted/telephone/arm crush/pressing...I've never heard razor before.

The telephone name BTW comes from you hugging your ear to your shoulder to keep the wrist pinned in place.

I dont think the rules changed though. It's hard not to be too reactionary to what we saw, but I think that's just how it goes sometimes when everyone is essentially elite.

Did you crunch the numbers for finishes on Day 1 vs. Day 2? Finals rules matches vs. regular rules matches?

In finals rules matches the only sub was Davi Ramos jumping armlock on Lucas Lepri.

there was a mayor rule change. I dont now if you have been following the other threads, but the Negative points for guard pulling even in the no points time is a mayor mayor rule change.

It is not even about the sub numbers, its about the judges decision.
