“I made a tearful vote in favor of manslaughter,” Juror #2 told Local 10 News’ Terrell Forney. “We were very frustrated. I don’t think anyone was ever made to feel bad about their vote, up until that point.”

That point was in court, when the jury seemingly decided to convict on a lesser charge of manslaughter instead of first-degree premeditated murder for the brutal killing of Jill Halliburton Su in her Davie residence during a home invasion seven years ago.

Are you saying you are in favor of the use of jury nullification in this instance? I was involved in a case and was the lead officer on the case. It was a domestic battery case. It was a third offense which was a felony and would have made him eligible for life because of his past convictions of five other violent felonies. I witnessed the crime take place-he smacked his pregnant girlfriend and then picked a bike up over his head and hit her with it. The jury refused to convict him because she was a prostitute. About six months later, he beat another woman and caused her to lose an eye, but she was so afraid of him that she recanted and said it was some guy she didn’t know and couldn’t describe. In cases other than simple possession, jury nullification is for trashbags and it keeps criminals on the streets.

edit-I know the reason why they didn’t convict was because one of the jurors was the owner of a car dealership. Many officers used this dealership because they got a discount there. I told anyone who would listen about what happened-both officers and people I knew. Another officer that knew her told me why and asked if I would stop telling people that. My response was fuck no

Dumb jurors for sure. I'm all for making sure racism isn't a factor in sentencing, but I don't see why race matters when it comes to convicting a man for murdering an innocent women inside her home during a robbery.

There's either evidence he committed the crime or there isn't. The same rules should apply to all races when it comes to crimes.
