I know the goal of robocall scammers is to get you to call back. I was looking for a phone number in my history in order to call someone back to ask a question regarding bill I had, but accidentally called back a robocalled who called me around the same time. I know it was the wrong number because as soon as th ephor stopped ringing I heard a bizarre beeping noise.

What is the risk of calling back a robocaller?

Long distance tolls from where the dialer is really located.

The numbers are proxys.

I just got a brutal heath insurance spam call straight from India.

Did you identify yourself as the furniture of telesales?

You need to take the sim card out of your phone and snap it ASAP. Good luck, bud.

The goal is to scam you, not to get you to call back. Since you called back you’re obligated to send them gift cards from target

With stupid fancy iPhone, many times, I unintentionally called back scam artists while trying to add them to block list. Also recently had to look up how to hang up a call since sometimes can't see the stupid phone icon button.

I accidently answered once while pulling my phone out of my pocket. I proceeded to get a call every 30 seconds for the next three hours.
