ACB JJ 13 live stream and results

Such fun events! A great weekend for bjj with ac bjj, Brazilian nationals, and a F2W in Chicago.

Good win for vinny, but he stalled his balls off there. Frustrating to watch that guy fight

Is it safe to say that Gordon is an overrated can?

Was it an even playing field?

What the hell is a reverse omoplata?

What the hell is a reverse omoplata?

Basically you roll from a crucifix and finish the kimura with your legs, rather than arms.

It’s not particularly hard once you’ve practiced it a bit, and the sub and sweep is very powerful, much more than a regular omoplata.

Is the ACB viewable somewhere? Seem it got delete due to some lame copyright claim :/

It should really be called a "leg kimura", since the position isn't "reversed" in the sense that we normally use it in BJJ.

Yeah it’s not a great name. That confused me when I first heard about the sub back in the day. Leg kimura would be a more accurate name.

Some thoughts:

That was one spicy coil lock.

How much of one's Gi top game can basically be reduced to: 'get the baseball choke grip'? Super powerful.

Simply pulling up on the lower leg got Vinny out of the saddle more than once; interesting escape.

If you were to ask someone what they thought the most 'fundamental' pass was, chances are they would probably say something like the double unders. I think a realer answer though would be like what Vinny did in r1; 'simply' switching the hips to go around outside your opponents leg. It's something Gordon Ryan himself also often does in the same scenarios. A basic, fundamental movement that show up in many different passing situations, and many different stylistic approaches to those situations.

Good pick up on Vinny's pass. It's the exact pass Gordon himself used on Romulo Barral.

Super dangerous too. Especially on the roll if the guy isn't experienced and doesn't feel it coming.
