in 1998, Serena and Venus Williams said they could beat any man ranked 200th or worse in a game of tennis. Karsten Braasch, ranked 203th, accepted their challenge and easily beat them, 6-1, 6-2.

Before the matches, Braasch played a round of golf in the morning, drank a couple of beers, smoked a few cigarettes, and then played the Williams sisters for a set each, one after the other.

If you think Ronda could beat a ranked fighter in a sport where strength is even more important than in Tennis, you're delusional.

But saying a man would beat a woman in a fist fight is misogynistic, bro.

Oh this should be good :)

And the Williams sisters are most manly of all female tennis players.

It's a good comparisson. I was thinking about it recently with all the shameless rooney-faced honda hype.

In most sports you pit your strengths against your opponent's strengths, in MMA you can pit your strengths against their weaknesses.

Another insecure male thread poster who wants to make sure everyone knows that "MEN ARE STRONGER THAN WOMEN, YEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"

Ronda couldn't beat any male MMA fighters. I remember the USA Women's Hockey team lost to some High School boy's team, pretty hilarious.

The counter-example is Billie Jean King beating Bobby Riggs (former world number one). Granted, he was 55 years old at the time :p

But did Serena and Venus crawl to their opponent?

Stop comparing MMA with other sports. Women are more likely to beat a man in a fight rather than in a ball sport.

not this again. hasn't there been enough of these types of threads debating this topic to death? op, creating another thread isn't going to change anyone's opinion. just let it go.

No athletic comission would sanction a fight between rousey and a male pro fighter, that's why ronda can keep saying stupid shit and stupid fans believe it.

Women have already beaten men in grappling which is a much more apt comparison than to sports that more directly pit the competitors' athleticism against each other.
