Could these camps become the norm?

I hope so. I would love to be a TLI medal chaser. I just don't have a solid enough mentality to leave school to train full time :/
Its funny to me how middle class Americans dream of being broke World champs while broke World champs dream of being middle class Americans.Somewhere in Brazil is a kid killing it on the mats training multiple times a day with the dream of coming to America and becoming middle class.

They can all dream of making it in america, getting a desk job, and spending that job posting on sherdog like the rest of us.

There are programs like the Army's World Class Athlete Program. Those essentially want you to already be a top 2 or top 5 guy in your weight class in the country prior to acceptance though.i wish i could take part in this. i'm from northern Va originally. But, bills to pay and the military isn't too keen on a one year sabbatical to "wrestle around". lol

They do pay you to train (while requiring that you still be somewhat current on your soldierly duties), which is nice.
