This left a bad taste in my mouth. Jan’s parents failed her.
I thought it was when he gave relief lolThe dad's "worst day in his life" is not either time his daughter was fucking kidnapped, it was when he served the divorce papers. Pathetic, complicit, shitty people.
They all seemed hunky dory at the end. Like it was all water under the bridge. That was yet another bizarre part. Jan has a big heart for forgiving her parents, because I personally wouldn't have.
Jan's mom has some serious issues. I mean the way she was smiling while remembering the affair? It's like she still looks on those memories fondly. She showed zero remorse or shame for any of this until a split second at the VERY end. She was just so...blase about the whole thing, almost in a sociopathic way. Any rational mom would be a mess while talking about what that monster did to her daughter, but she was so emotionless. It was bizarre.
As I think about it more, does anyone think this might be one long lie to cover up the family whoring out their daughter? They cover each other's tracks and mishaps to well.
My jaw is still on the floor. I cannot believe what I just watched.
It's like the most boldly evil con man meet the world's easiest marks.
The dad was clearly gay. B was smart enough to pick up on that and I think he asked for the hand job just in case he needed blackmail material later on. The guy was playing chess while these clowns were playing checkers.
The worst is the mom. That dude kidnapped your daughter, convinced your husband to give him a hand job, and then you decide to have sex with him???? Eleven times??? What in the actual fuck man. She's as big a villain as B is imo.
As for B. What a creepy fuck he was. That's gotta be some kind of record, convincing the daughter and both parents to have sex with him.

My God, wtf did I just watch? WTF!!! Beyond surreal. And the nerve on that guy was something else too.
This is what happens when a fucking psychopath meets naive and gullible people. Terrifying.
When the mother mentioned he was seducing her I immediately said to myself "what's next? He has an affair with her dad?" lmao And then the handy jay story comes and punches me in the face. HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!
I honestly don't know why Jan (the victim) would let this documentary be made. All it accomplished was making her parents look as bad if not worse than the rapist. Both parents are poster children for people who should not be allowed to procreate.
I thought the mom banging the rapist was bad enough so imagine my surprise when the dad confessed to giving the creep an old fashioned.
I watched it this morning and had to jump on here to see if there was a thread and I wasn't dissapointed.
These are the dumbest people on Earth.
Took them 5 days to report their daughter missing the first time! They said they didn't suspect foul play.
Why would you let a 40 year old dude sleep in bed with your 12 year old daughter??
The mom messed around with him, dad gave him a handy, and then the mom slept with him 11 times after he raped the daughter.
They signed affidavits to drop charges because they were worried about him leaking that they had affairs with him? They were more concerned about their reputations than keeping their daughter safe.
His brother made it sound like him being a pedophile was no big deal.
When she was kidnapped the 2nd time, the parents lied to people and said she was with her grandmother.
I have a theory they knew about everything, just the fact that they didn't call the police the first time he kidnapped her. Man... that's not a normal behaviour.YOOOOO. I know I've never fuckin gasped watching a movie.
But when this character said "so i gave him relief"
Then I thought I lost all understanding of time when the mom said she fucked him 11 times.. AFTER he kidnapped her. And fled the country, raped her, and blackmailed them...
And she's fuckin reminiscing. I mean, they knew right?
Motherfuckin therapy tapes and sleepovers? Christ, that was wild shit. This guy lived out a NAMBLA porno fantasy with their daughter for like 10 fuckin years.
It's because the doc doesn't really go over the culture of those religions and those areas. Child marriage and kid shit like that is normal there.I have a theory they knew about everything, just the fact that they didn't call the police the first time he kidnapped her. Man... that's not a normal behaviour.
Eh, I’m not into it, but I guess it’s just kid’s stuff... come ‘ereBoy I really need some relief right now. Any takers?
So what do you think? They knew about it or they didn't but it wasn't that much of a big deal for them at the time? It's because the doc doesn't really go over the culture of those religions and those areas. Child marriage and kid shit like that is normal there.
I bet the reason they don't is that as soon as people realize it they'll say "oh that explains it" and you won't have comments like many in this thread.
There's a Leah Remini type show on a&e about former child brides trying to get people out of there. This is an offshoot sect I think but still.
I'm not sure but the whole culture is a reason that the kid stuff didn't seem too abnormal to them probably. Or why it was easy for her to bang him again. When men marrying little girls is normal then it ain't gonna be that weird relatively speaking. So what do you think? They knew about it or they didn't but it wasn't that much of a big deal for them at the time?
What's baffling to me is that they were aware that this guy wants to marry their 13-year-old daughter, yet they seem to not know or even suspect at this time that he had been abusing her already? It was played as if when Jan realizes she's been lied to about the aliens she finally tells her family the truth about everything that had happened and that they were utterly shocked by it.I'm not sure but the whole culture is a reason that the kid stuff didn't seem too abnormal to them probably. Or why it was easy for her to bang him again. When men marrying little girls is normal then it ain't gonna be that weird relatively speaking.
