Why did AA knock bigfoot out with two leaping right hands whereas K-1 Champ Hunt couldn't do the same and got knocked down by a BJJ black belt Bigfoot? Even Reem got KOed by BJJ black belts. What the hell is going on here? K-1 striking huh? lol. Sounds like a gimmick.

Well Bigfoot tested positive in the Hunt fight (and has probably been juicing his whole career).. He was apparently off of it and clean for this fight, so it'd explain why he looked like shit, slower than usual, and got put out cold.

It may hev been that Bigfoot was on testosterone during the fight. I have no explanation for it and I doubted that it helps with your chin myself but then I saw more and more of that with fighters walking through shots and then testing positive so apparently it may help if they have super high levels DURING the fight and not when just they juice in training camp. In boxing it was like that with Guillermo Jones and Denis Lebedev, Jonest tested positive and while he certainly has a very good chin without PEDs he walked through huge shots of one of the biggest punchers at that weight like they were nothing.

And Hunt dropped Bigfoot but instead on being quick to finish bigfoot and Cain, Cormier and Alrovski were he slowly walked over to him to start to GnP he probably blew a big chance of finishing Bigfoot because of that

All fights are different, but BigFoot looked horrible tonight..
It isn't a stretch seeing how slow he was to believe TRT helped him big in the past..

Well, I COULD say that you're trolling, like most guys here, but as a kickboxing fan I don't really like HW K-1 that much, there are fighters like Bonjasky and Hug (and even Aerts, who I do like), who seem overrated in terms of technique and lack boxing base to me and I don't really enjoy like many people apparently do.

On the other hand, guys like Petrosyan and Souwer are an absolute walking instructional book on how well-rounded striking should look.

In general, those aren't the same sports.

The Bigfoot you're talking about failed the post fight drug test vs. Hunt, so don't make it sound like his performance was ultra amazing, he cheated and got a draw...
and that same Bigfoot was getting destroyed for 3 rounds until Overeem went stupidly cocky and let his hands down.

Besides Overeem has a weak chin and gets regularly KO'd.

Please compare what's comparable. I'm not even sure why I'm answering such a trolling attempt.

I gotta admit I find it more interesting and entertaining also to watch the technical guys from the 70 KG division for example Buakaw, Petrosyan, Rystie, Souwer, Kiria, or even from the other divisions like Artem Levin, Nieky Holzken, Ghokan Saki, and Tyrone Spong.

HW is still entertaining though, especially because of the power factor and high chances of KO's :)

silva was on legal ped usage.....the so called testosterone replacement therapy.....wich was big scam

but even with the medical exemption for testosterone replacement......he was way out of limit of what was allowed.....in other words, he was roided up as hell on a medical exemption.....he took it too far

and now the athletic state commissions have banned the medical exemptions for testosterone replacement all together.......

alot of guys that have been roiding in pride or wherever and continued to do so with TRT exemptions are gonna fall hard.......we've seen overeem shrink in muscular size a bit and his confidence is shot

bigfoot really looked tentative in this fight..........he looked like shit

more will follow I guess.....vitor belfort has been a cheater all his life and weidman will bring him down as well

But lets not kid ourselves too, someone like Arlovski is much more technically sound in the basics of striking than someone like Bonjasky.

oh also.......this was their second fight.....in Strikeforce bigfoot, with a trt exemption, won a unanimous decision against arlovski

arlovski would get murdered even by the weak hw division these days in kickboxing......arlovski can't take a punch.....when he gets hit he goes out cold

we've seen this al lthroughout his carreer

boxing......yeah........overal striking......definately not......bonjasky is a great kicker and in his prime had a tight defense

serious question... Do you dislike heavyweight because you're 5'9 and 160 lbs and can't relate tohaving real power? so you brush off the attribute of having power and act like heavyweights aren't impressive? it's probably pretty easy for a 150 pounder to get there leg up to head level. but I'm 250lbs and can get my leg up

I was 235 lbs when I started martial arts, about 185 now, but thanks for asking:icon_lol:

And instead of calling me high, why don't you guys compare their footwork, their boxing, their headmovement and their work in the pocket. Bonjasky's kicks, knees and timing is nothing short of amazing, but he has many holes in his technique.

so what....technique is very important but there are alot of aspects to fighting......aerts isn't the most technikal either.....even for a heavy weight there are enough fighters out there that are/were technikally better

but his timing, reflexes and diverse attacking still made him an all time great

arlovski only has good footwork in a huge cage against a slow bigfoot.......in a small ring he'd get clipped quicker than you think

But it's kinda true. HW has been for the most part always one of the weaker divisions in most combat sports and in kickboxing the gap in skill between HWs and the 70kg guys is even bigger than in boxing and probably even bigger than in MMA.
And I like watching HWs not because of power or anything but because they are truly the best and how good someone is at HW shows how good he really is outside of weight classes.
But the more I watched combat sports the more I started to appreciate the lower weight classes in the beginning HW is easier to watch for new fans because everything is slower and more basic so it's easier to understand (or even see) what's going on but as you watch more fights and understand striking at least at it's core there's more to find in the lower weight classes.
You have to dig deeper but the reward is greater

I remember Silva being out on his feet at one point in fight against Hunt, but the ref stepped in and saved him.

Hunt still hits hard as hell, but we're talking about a guy whose prime was over a decade ago, the guy is 40 years old and most fighters have retired at that age. The Hunt of today is much slower, has less stamina, speed, timing, ... you name it.
