To win rd 4 and 5 you need size, skill and cardio. Speed and power are often diminished by then, conors main assets.

Gregory have great speed, power, timing and balance.
Cardio and skill....average
Basically he needs to use even more energy to KO full camp ironchin southpaw longer reach nate, and avoid every TD, every clinch without gassing....

This time they will fly in real sparring partners, sparring hard in 5th round conor will gass and lose to the new bigger elite sparring partners20--25 min into hard spar, Con dragged down, pummeled or subbed over and over
It will be the turning point....

Conor will realize he needs that KO, desperately need to KO Nates ironchin with conors 1handed boxing. (Amazing left hand thou, art jimmerson would be proud) or lose a humiliating slapping loss

His managers will try to find a way to somehow cancel the fight and find an easier victim.

I really don't know what the hell UFC brass was thinking in making this fight. It's kind of a lose-lose on the promoter's part.

Unless you count makin boatloads of cash off a fight that everyone is guaranteed to watch again

The fight will likely end in a similar result, and objectively, Nate is not as marketable as Conor. So why not make Nate/RDA + Conor-Edgar in a MSG double-header instead? Way more money for the UFC.

Because Conor calls his own shots and he wants to "overturn" the loss to raise his stock again. Casuals will flock and believe he is the GOAT if he wins because they will believe that the first fight was a fluke - they dont understand MMA. I have no doubt that he 100% believes in himself to beat anyone including Diaz, as all fighters do have that kind of belief in themselves. Whether he actually in reality has a good chance to beat Nate is another story

You may be right but it is from Conor's POV. I said lose-lose on the promoter's side which your reason doesn't count for.

If last fight taught us anything is that you never can accurately predict a fight before it happens. Doubt the rematch plays out the same way the first fight did. That in itself is enough reason to watch the rematch.

And maybe having the opportunity to reduce Conors influence a little bit more. I don´t think Dana would be extremly upset if "Neck-to-Neck-with-the-UFC Conor McGregor" gets humbled again.

Who knows, Conor could retire after this next fight and all those fights you speak will be moot. Their Cashing in now on what is gonna be the most profitable rematch in ufc history

Nate gets hit less in the rematch, pushes the pace more, pieces Conor up again, but this time he lands a guillotine or an armbar. I can envision him landing the armbar from top position, probably mount.

Unnecessary rematch.

Conor pretty much is the promoter lol. But for Dana and the other UFC high ups if Conor beats Nate in the eyes of the casuals and Mcgregor fans that loss if overturned and confirmed as somewhat of a fluke - meaning his stock rises again and the aura comes back a bit - so there's definitely a win there

Conor vs sage northcut would sell, Dana could declare them both winners in their own way.
Give them golden shower locker room bonuses and tell the pressers conor and sage are the future...
Forget that honda driving nate..
A rematch will be made because it makes sense... sage vs conor 2 maybe 3....

McGregor would knock out Sage in the opening exchange.

As far as I could see it was only talk of this fight ever happening people were reacting to the UFC putting out feelers on fan response and having paid staff monitor the chatter. They may committed themselves by making this talk breathe too long, now it's either Diaz/McGregor 2, Conor defend @FW, or RDA in non title make up fight in my books.

A million+ pay per view buys is a lose-lose? lolwut, don't think you actually know what the point of prize fighting is

I am thinking this fight won't make as much PPV now that Conor's mystique has taken a huge hit. Like I suggested in the other post, Nate/RDA + Conor-Edgar would likely do huge numbers, and the match-ups that can be made after would likely do huge numbers as well. Why settle with one huge payday if you can make at least two, if you're a promoter?

anyone who trains or really knows mma = knows this will be a great fight do to we will see how Connor bounces back from a defeat .
