If Aldo beats Edgar(which can also be considered a mega fight) convincingly should he go up to face Benson and maybe become the first ever UFC champion to simultaneously hold 2 titles?

Im pretty sure if he moves up weight the UFC is going to take his featherweight belt

#1 he won't beat Edgar convincingly

#2 Bendo would tear him a new asshole

Aldo vs. Edgar is a bigger fight then Aldo vs. Henderson to me, but that would be pretty good.

Featherweight is already backlogged, the winner of Aldo/Edgar needs to defend that belt ASAP.

I wonder if Florian will make a comeback if Aldo left the division.

I personally like the idea of a fighter staying in his weight class if he is the champion. He should only switch to a different class when he is ready to stay in it.

I don't think Florian can make the weight cut anymore.
And the champion of a division should defend his belt in his own division, not try to win a different belt.

1- yes he will and

2- Bendo couldn't tear Pettis or Edgar a new asshole and Aldo has better takedown defense and striking than either.

Dana said he wouldnt allow someone to hold belts in both divisions since it just makes both divisions jammed since the champ will defend in both weight classes.

Plus Edgar is going to beat Aldo, pretty handily too.

Aldo vs. Edgar isn't a "super fight," much less is it a "mega fight" and neither would Aldo vs. Bendo.

The term super fight gets thrown around to loosely around here.

The only real super fights in MMA are GSP vs. Anderson and Anderson vs. Jones. Not even Jones vs. Cain would be a super fight yet. Cain isn't popular enough for that fight to be considered a super fight yet.

You have very high standards. Arguably the best LW in the world dropping down a division to face the FW champion. Sounds like a "Super Fight" to me.

If Aldo moves up, Faber will move back up to FW for one more title shot. It's in his contract to get a title shot every other fight (Randy clause).

It's not high standards, it's reality.

MMA isn't a popular enough sport and it's been noted previously that the casual fans don't really care for any fighters besides GSP, Anderson, Jones and the heavyweights.

They care very little about the lighter weight classes.

If we to a boxing scale, a "super fight" would be something like Mayweather vs. Cotto and a "mega fight" would be something like Mayweather vs. Pacquiao even if he was KOed by M

After seeing Hominick (of all people) GNP Aldo in the later rounds, I can see Edgar taking a unanimous or split decision over Aldo... At which point all the matches are fresh again.
