Sounds interesting... I'm not sure that these are the ONLY shorts that give you a technical advantage... I'd say there are lots of shorts do that, perhaps not to the extent these possibly could. I wonder how competition legal these would be.

Nice, I wonder how good they actually they are, and how much is say. As for competition, I don't think there is a certain material you can/can't wear? I could easily be wrong though...

I was going to order them yesterday. I decided to go with a pair of Red V-Flex XT's instead. I didn't know what the cut of the shorts was like so I didn't want to risk it.

Yeah the Vitor shorts had the same design. Maybe these are the Vitor 2's.

I would feel like such a tool rolling in shorts with a spattered blood pattern on them.

They prob get them from the same maker as No-Gi's. I can get them too, but IMO I don't like cotton for a lot of reasons. Shrinkage and especially with gi cloth, has a phenomenal ability to absorb and retain moisture. Meaning it is far more likely to generate and retain bacteria and odor compared to synthetics.

Grip wise I think it would show the most value for triangles and omoplatas though.

Very similar to the NoGi Brasil design. A number of companies offer shorts similar to those: Rags, Hot Blood, KAizen (now), Wand. Nothing new really. I'm not especially fond of the look either, but they're not hideous or anything.

Koral and Atama have always had Gi material shorts. They must be Hot as Hell, and I imagine they give your opponent an advantage as he could get a better grip on your shorts (not that your supposed to grab shorts). My favorite is the Gi material bags. what are you gonna roll in your bag. Someone should invent a Gear bag/Kimono:icon_chee . Or shoes made out of Gi material.
