Media A new mythical fighter is born? (Jacked Beast)

He was in better shape than I remember for a long time in his last fight. He may be a victim of too little too late here, he should have worked towards this years ago. He let that back injury linger too long, thought he could just get by landing haymakers.

I hope he does well, though. All said and done, Lewis comes across as a genuine human with a big heart, and I'm a fan.

Didn't he recently move camp/gyms?

Glad he's taking things seriously the last gym he was at had like no pros and didn't seem adequate for a UFC fighter to say the least.

Never liked the vibe of his barber shop mustache coach either ha.

I'm always going to be pulling for him to decapitate his opponent, even when he inevitably goes to the BKFC.

Imagine if he had a proper diet and training regimen and was around 235-240. He would have been a force.

Doubt. His entire skillset is built around his massive power. And his power comes from the fact that he's surprisingly fast for his size. Force = mass x acceleration after all. He has both in large quantities.

If he lost weight he'd have less mass behind his strikes. He'd probably be slightly faster sure, but he'd be giving up 30lbs of mass behind his strikes which would probably have a bigger impact on his power. He'd hit less hard which would mean he'd have to change up his entire game to rely on that less.

Plus again, he's surprisingly fast. If he was 235lbs people wouldn't underestimate his speed so much. You wouldn't get the Blaydes type KOs where he shocks everybody by being fast enough to make that kinda strike in that little time. They'd be far more wary of him. Right now people still look at a massive guy and think he can't possibly move as fast as he ends up doing.

Dana should pay him real money to do Power Slap. He’d easily KO all of those bums and they’d have a real, marketable HW champion. I doubt he can make a title run in the UFC at this point.

this line is made the thread:

Coming into a fight IN shape is a bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it pays off for him

Plus being heavier he's going to be tougher to take down

I am not sure having 30 lbs less would be positive for his power. I'd suggest his sweet spot would have been 250, and not fat 280 cutting to 265.
