There you have it, gents. One of the greatest athletes of all time recognizing the athleticism it takes to be a UFC fighter. I hope we can put the discussion to rest now.
UFC fighters = best athletes in the world

MMA tests your everything

Endurance
Strength
Cardio
Technique
Mind games

etc...

So yes, I agree

MMA requires A-Level athletic skills, but I don't believe the current UFC fighters are necessarily the best athletes at baseline. Most of them can't fight at a high level for the duration of the scheduled bout.

I wonder what a porno would look like between Shaq and Megan Olivi..

Shaqs just paying respect to the fighters.

There’s a difference between a sport requiring a high level of athleticism and the highest level athletes participating in a sport.

It’s hard to judge as different sports require different conditioning. I do think MMA fighters are some of-the best conditioned athletes out there. Most talented though? I believe the best natural athletes, guys that were just born with it, will still tend to be far more prevalent in other mainstream sports. The number in MMA is still growing,

I'm pretty sure he means UFC fighters are considered the best MMA athletes.

But but what about Greg "A level" Hardy, vertical jumps and a 40-yard dash ;)

Shaq one of the greatest LOL if he was 6'4 or 5 he would have been in the NBA so there you have it.

Gonna have to agree . mma at the highest level requires high level athletes to be successful

Boxing is more akin to a fighters spirit

I’ve always thought this conversation was a pointless joke. But have at er.

I believe the fights are too long. I wrestled and the 2 minute rounds took everything I had out of me. I couldn't imagine going 5 minutes, I think the human body isn't made to grapple for 15 minutes, much less 25.

That must be why former college football players make it to the top 10.
