Does anyone think that the huge jump in competition is going to be a bit of a problem for Mcgregor? The only measuring stick we really have is Dustin Poirier, who he beat easily. Dustin is a great fighter but that's only one fight against top 10 competition. No fights against Cub Swanson, Frankie Edgar, Chad Mendes or Ricardo Lamas? Doesn't that make predicting a result against a top 5 fighter pretty hard, much less the champ?

Also did Conor flip Siver off in the beginning of the fight? Why did they cut away?

What's funny is everyone seems to think Conor will fight the same flashy, showman fight against Aldo. I'd assume he gives 0 fucks about looking dominant in that one and concentrates purely on winning.

He should fight Frankie for a title shot.

No one knows how good COnor really is yet cause he's been given easy fights that cater to his strengths. We will find out vs Aldo

Oh gee, do you think TS?

When McGregor was beating drunk cans back in Irish farm soil, Aldo was defending his belt against the best in the world.

    This is a mismatch.

The UFC doesn't want another Frankie/Jose fight in light of the $$ Conner/Aldo will bring

It's sort of better for McGregor this way. Aldo doesn't quite have an exact read on him, and McGregor's either good enough to beat Aldo or he isn't.

He wouldn't even mention Edgar after the Swanson fight.

Not to mention he got taken down by a German kick boxer.

Edgar would break his will, and possibly other things. Mendes would be even worse.

If he's able to look even moderately okay-ish against Aldo it'll be considered a victory. The goal was simply getting him there. They've accomplished that. He'll be sold as a Top 3-5 fighter and former challenger for the title. His fame will be milked for a period of time before it fizzles out like Sonnen/Lesnar and so many others before him.

Weidman already had the blueprint on how to beat Silva.
