Given that it is independence day for you guys, thought I would share a yahoo story about a girl living the American dream (in a sea of muslim rape, BLM and hate threads, I thought it would be nice to have a feel good story for once).

I'll leave the story to the article, but Claressa Shields literally fought her way out of poverty and will be gunning for history at the summer Olympics.

Good for her. I really hope she gets the recognition and public support that she deserves.

Update: Claressa took home the Gold today. First boxer in American history to win back to back golds.

I'm not even American, and I am so proud of this girl.

Hope she gets the recognition she deserves - she already won her hardest fight by overcoming a tragic childhood, now it is time for her to be a hero to so many.
