In the video the reporter talked about if he was feeling under the weather his avatar can takeover doing the news lol.
 
In the video the biggest breakthrough talked about is AI VS AI one does the creation the other finds the faults till they agree on the final result. Before it was up to the creator to decide if the output was good enough now that works done by the AI providing superior output. It likely compares multiple sources and finds the issues.

Fun fact Arnold Schwarzenegger saw this as a problem over a decade ago well before deepfakes and has been working with lawyers to protect people's likeness and find where these things reside.

Even before this scan of himself he has been trademarking his digital likeness for Terminator movie.

I went to high school with James (who goes by Miles now). Even then he could emulate Cruise eerily well.

Got some pretty great stories about him as he's had his demons, but I'll respect his privacy.

This is going to revolutionize movies.

If this was perfected years ago, we could've had star wars movies with prime Luke, Leia, and Han. Not just cameos like in the mandalorian, but an entire movie starring an actor that's too old to play the character, or even dead in some cases.

Not to mention the crazy porn we could have. What if I can only jizz by watching Kurt Cobain having a threesome with prime Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana? Now I can finally watch it!

On a more scary note, the time is coming when individuals, and especially corporations and governments will be able to make anyone say or do anything and it will be indistinguishable from reality. This is a very serious problem with serious implications moving forward. The C.I.A. will be able to frame anyone doing any crime and have it in 4k.
 
It's the end of trust and therefore the end of everything.

No need. There won't have to be any actors anymore. You can make up a person completely tailored to the role and not have to pay actors millions, have endless takes or put up with their crappy attitudes.

You can make what would have been a huge budget movie with just a script and a couple computer nerds and editors.
