Swordcraft is more recreational. Weapons are made of foam, there is a hitpoint system for tracking damage, and players are not allowed within 1m of eachother.

There're waves of unique characters floating around at those events. There are certainly the "nerd jocks".

Those weapons must be lightweight so it does not do any fatal or permanent damage. If so, then this is just a contest of endurance/Stamina. We already have association football for that.
