Romero's easily one of the best wrestlers in ufc, effortlessly took down and outwrestled people like Weidman or Kennedy when he's fully committed to wrestling. but for some reason, but a lot of people think his MMA wrestling is overrated for some unknown reason. No doubt that MMA wrestling is a little bit different than traditional wrestling but Romero is a silver medalist for a reason.

His whole fight with brad tavares is a great showcase of his wrestling, he completely ragdolled him in that him.

He has sequences where his pedigree is obvious but the reason he doesn't use it more often isn't because he's sandbagging, it's because he isn't great positionally and gasses himself.

romero used to get too excited to GnP his opponent whenever he took his opponent down, which cost him top position a few times in the past. but Romero is a lot more "patient" now, he was able to keep Whittaker down and control him few times when he took him down(1 & 2 fight). even when he "gassed", which is quite impressive considering great rob is at getting back up when hes taken down.

PED's can make a big difference. Sure hope his "illness" isn't too bad.

He definitely seems to rely more on his ability to explode which most guys just can't handle that level of athleticism. Like that guy he ankle picked into a back flip.

Love the ankle pick. Shit looks like something Eddie Bravo comes up with. But it's actually effective if properly timed. Yoel even used that at top level wrestling tournaments.

Was the trick randy used to get James Toney to the ground with absolutely no punching interaction too. Minus the back flip part cause randy isn't nearly as insane athletically. Bit risky if you mistime it, but if you do time it and catch them flat footed you can immediately pull them off balance considering they can't just soccer kick you in the head in the US.
