So check out this moment of MMA history.

I was rewatching the first fight with Sylvia and Arlovski, where Arlovski submitted Sylvia in under a minute. Commentating this fight alongside Rogan and Goldie was the heavyweight champion Frank Mir, who had been sidelined in his infamous motorcycle accident.

After Arlovski won, a truly photogenic moment occurred. We see Arlovski, the new interim heavyweight champion, in a state of total euphoria from his victory. Sitting in the background, quite clearly, is the applauding Frank Mir, the then official heavyweight champion, and the last person before Arlovski to defeat Sylvia, also by first round submission.

It was like a "Couldn't have done it better myself," moment. I know this is random, I just saw this and felt like sharing it. It's an almost perfectly captured, reflective image. I know most of the boneheads here couldn't care less.

Had to do it. I actually like your pic. Mir has always seemed like a classy guy. Dude went through hell to get back into the cage and was in some pretty exciting fights, both wins and losses.

I mean, he had lost quite a few times before that lol. He never had the prettiest record on paper. He's definitely an all time heavyweight tho.

Yeah but he was just looking like such a savage at the time -- the hair, the fanged mouthpiece, and was finishing everyone.

I really liked Mir in the booth. He rubs folks the wrong way at times (ever since his feud with Lesnar) but I have always been a fan of him. He really is a big inspiration for being reborn as a fighter after a motorcycle accident that would have ended most people's athletic careers.
