The United States recorded more than 92,000 coronavirus cases on Friday, a level reached for the first time since the pandemic began. After eight months battling the virus, two dozen states are reporting weekly records for new cases — and none are recording improvements.

Eleven states reported single-day records for new cases on Friday: Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Montana, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and Maine. And two states hit record deaths: Tennessee with 78 and Montana with 27.”

Advances in Covid-19 treatment have shortened hospital stays, easing capacity strains. But doctors and health-care disaster experts say the gains are not enough to meet a sustained rise in hospitalizations, particularly in remote pockets of the country that have smaller hospitals and fewer medical professionals.

Nationally, a spring surge of Covid-19 hospitalizations peaked in mid-April and was followed by a second wave in late July. The latest rise began in late September, data from the Covid Tracking Project show, with the...”

That's pretty low for 8 months although with restrictions and obviously the virus did have to start from zero cases. There were an estimated 490,561 influenza hospitalizations in 2018-2019 and an estimated 34,157 deaths. In 2017-2018 there were an estimated 61,000 influenza deaths in USA. When restrictions end and if the virus is here to stay I imagine it will be as widespread and deadly as the flu.

    EDIT: corrected incorrect statistic

New actual cases or more bullshit from the flawed Coronavirus test? It is amazing how many people have had it but showed little to no symptoms.

We had 800 with 24 hospitalizations. How many people going to the hospital is the important number.

Here in Houston I have been hearing more helicopters going to the medical center. The last time they were like this was July.
