SHOCKING police figures released for England and Wales have shown nearly 900 Syrians have been arrested in just one year.

And officials say the migrants were accused of sickening crimes including rapes and child abuse.

Now critics say they are concerned that the thousands of Syrians entering Britain each year under resettlement schemes are being allowed to enter the country unchecked.

Among those arrested are four Syrian immigrants
have been charged after two 14-year-old girls were allegedly sexually assaulted - just yards from Newcastle United's stadium.

The UK Government is working to resettle up to 20,000 Syrian refugees in the UK by the end of the Parliament in 2020, under its Syrian Vulnerable Person Resettlement scheme.

Official statistics show that 1,602 people had been resettled in the UK under the scheme by the end of March 2016.

According to Parliamentary research paper it is possible for Syrians to claim asylum upon arrival or after-entry to the UK.

Damn...and those are only the ones that have been reported or caught.

Besides the obvious hardship for the victims, how are European justice systems suppose to deal with that?
I mean this are 900 sexual assault investigation someone has to undertake, where is the man power and budget suppose to come from.
And those are only the Syrians in a country that didn't take that many people in.

I cant see how law enforcement is able to investigate all those new crimes to a standard we are used to.

So 9 / 238 = 3.7% of all Syrians arrested in London were due to sex crimes. So if we take the really low number of 900 nationwide arrests, we arrive at about 34 Syrians arrested for sex crimes last year. Still not a nice thing, but the OP is obviously based on an article that gives a wrong impression on purpose.

Also, I predict this post shall largely be ignored in the discussion in this thread.

There are about 5000 Syrians in the UK who have arrived since 2011. If they really had committed 900 rapes / sexual assaults, obviously that would be worth condemning. It would mean that we have almost a sex criminal rate of 20% among the Syrian population. Even the 35 sex crimes that I estimated based on the London figures are too much, but they bring the number closer to 0.7%.

But you can just admit you fell for the bullshit the Express laid out for you here.

900 Syrians bearing in mind addition to the Syrians that were already there, they've only admitted 1,600 "refugees"

The government has admitted approximately 6,000 Syrian refugees over the last three years. Let's be modest and say 10% are women. Out of the remaining 5400, 900 have been arrested for sexual offences. That means the LOWEST POSSIBLE percentage of sexual offenders within the per capita refugee population is 17%.
