Well folks,we are reaching the first half of the year and we see some upcoming events with big matches on the paper like glory 31 having the polemic Sitthichai vs RVR 2,the new k-1 65kg tournament,Verhoeven set to face the upcoming dangerous HW Londt,4 man tournament to decide the next challenger of holzken and some other fights or events who kickboxing world are really looking forward anxious.

what is the most wanted fights you want to see in near future, like until this year for example, who you thing it have to happen and it probably is going to happen soon?

My picks:

1)Sitthichai vs RVR:This is going to happen in the next month on Glory 31 Amsterdam,a rematch of a robbery taking place of RVR hometown, shit is going to be crazy, especially when Sitthichai said he is not going to leave it for the judges this time,i think the rematch will be much more agressive than the first fight and someone is going to get knocked out this time,if RVR stands too much in defense this time i think Sitthichai will fuck him up with mid knees until get the knockout,so i see both coming aggressive to this fight.(Going to happen)

2)Saki vs Vakhitov:Vakhitov recently defeated the guy who was looking unstoppable,Saulo cavalari, who was on a good win streak with victories like Mwekassa twice(one by KO),over the good Ilunga and Kakhitov, but in this rematch,Vakhitov made it look easy,he hurtCavalari with low kicks and boxing a lot,and made it clear winning all rounds.

Saki was injured or something like it,but he still on glory books, and they will make this fight soon as Saki recovered, this is an amazing matchup of two guys with amazing fight styles,a real test for both and a dream match up IMO,this fight is going to be exciting when it happen(very possible)

3)Takeru vs Ozawa Kaito:set to happen next month on k-1 65kg tournament event, the atmosphere for this fight is heavy,Ozawa Kaito(new krush champion) talk shit about takeru(former krush champion) and both guys look to dislike each other, their video of both brawling have almost a half of million views in 8 fucking days of publication, japanese media is all over this fight and kickboxing world too, things are going to be funny when this guys finally face themselves in a ring,i think Ozawa is going to get his ass kicked,he is good but Takeru look to be the best fighter overall. (Going to happen)

4)Superbon against some tough guy on LW division:Superbon already showed to be an good prospect on LW division, aside his fight against Sitthichai,he was his only opponent who is a top 15 kickboxer who Superbon faced,he got knocked out but not the worst thing,he faced the n°1 on the division and took a perfect counter hook.Superbon until he started his KB career,he only took medium caliber guys on LW scene as chinese talents as Zheng Zhaoyu,Zhang Chunyu and most recently he took a little bit better fighter than what he had faced,El mansouri, but i still want to see how he do against top 10,15 like Nagbe,Zuev,Pasphorin or even a tough like Gogokhia,Grigorian or Lee Sung Hyun for example,i think he can do good,he already looked prepared to step forward on competition and considering he is on final 16 of kunlun tournament again, soon he is going to face a most dangerous guy.(very possible)

5)Petro against a top 5 again:His last fight against a top 5 on LW ranking was against the underdog Ristie who knocked him out,2 years and a half ago, since that, his best opponents were two guys who appeared on top 10(Kehl one year ago, where petrosyan faced the k-1 max champ of 2014 and legit top 10 at the time) and the prospect Josh Jauncey, aside from that, only medium caliber kickboxers,he had a fight with the top 3 Gogokhia last month on Oktagon event, but Gogokhia unfortunately pulled out due injury, and then the replacement(Allazov,a top 7 IMO) pulled out too, left him to face a only good Ravy Brunow, who is not even a top 30.I think until the end of this year Petro is going to catch a big fight,at least i hope soo.(possible)

6)K-1 65kg GP world tournament:yeah, the most stacked weight division on a kickboxing organization is back with another epic tournament,i think everyone remember the 2014 65kg tournament can look forward for it as another amazing night for the sport. On one hand,we have Kaew trying to establish his supremacy on the division again, since he destroyed his nemesis Kimura Minoru with easy,he showed problems against Glunder and won a fight against Bulaid,i think this time is going to be a very tough test to Kaew, who is set to face the hard worker Hiroya on the quarter finals and a most wanted semi final with the possibility to have a rematch with Glunder or a first and very interesting fight against one of the toughest Noiri,i think glunder and Noiri are going to war while Kaew took a "most easy" opponent, witch make it favorable for Kaew to the semi finals and then to the finals.

On the other hand we have the long time one of the biggest names of the division, Hideaki Yamazaki, who made his way to this tournament defeating 3 very big names on the division in one night(same thing Kaew made in 2014),i think both move to the finals and it is going to be a rematch of 2014 gp quarter finals, when Kaew defeated Yamazaki, but this time Yamazaki have a easier way to the finals and it is going to count a lot,Renita and Bulaid are good(guys who i pick to Yamazaki defeat on quarter and semi finals),but not the same thing to face Hiroya and especially Noiri or Glunder.I pick Yamazaki winning it and taking the belt from Kaew, but i cheer for Kaew again.(going to happen)

7)Marcus vs Wilnis rematch on title bout:is the logic thing to do considering Levin is not going to face Marcus for a long time(i think and i hope never more),Schilling is leaving Glory and Wilnis just defeated him before that,it is a interesting rematch, considering Wilnis went to war with Alex Pereira before the meet with marcus, this time both will be fresh, and i think if Wilnis fight at his best and take advantage of the flaws who Marcus do on the fight,he can knock Marcus out.(Very possible)

8)Welterweight Tournament on glory 31,counting with two amazing semi finals between Kongolo-Harut Grigorian and Murthel-Benmansour,a high level tournament, witch guy who win it will be legit to face Holzken, who lost his unbeatable skin to most of the casual fans after the fight against Groenhart and the tough fight against Kongolo.

I personally want to see Murthel or Harut winning it,Just hope if Murthel won it he dont get robbed against Holzken for the third time, but i really appreciate more if Harut took this tournament,he is the second most probable man to Beat Holzken in front of everyone(first is Kyshenko without a doubt, but he is not coming back to glory as he became the kunlun king of the ring on MW division).

what you guys want to see hard on kickboxing near future, these are my wishes!!

You hit most of the good ones. I would add:

1. Doumbe vs Holzken. The champion vs the guy who beat Fang Bian(unofficially) and Groenhart.

2. QJL vs Varga. Varga has a bunch of fights in China already so it might happen.

3. Mohamed El Mesaoudi(I probably spelt it wrong, sorry) vs Yang Zhuo. I really doubt this fight will happen, but both guys who performed well against elite opposition recently.

4. Mohamed Jaraya vs Nordin Ben Moh 2. Its happening. Let the face smashing continue!

5. Adamchuk vs someone new. Its no secret Glory has a fairly shallow featherweight division, I'd like to see Glory bring in someone new for Adamchuk to fight.

Adamchuk coming back to fight in k-1 would be amazing, especially now where he is fighting on 65kg and k-1 is just the major league of this division.

I forgot about Jaraya vs Ben moh 2,this is going to be epic too!!

good points bro,i would add the 7 year rematch of Londt and Verhoeven(even Verhoeven is going to outclass him IMO) and Londt vs Gerges on glory 31,3 years rematch from their first fight, and is going to look interesting how Gerges is going to do now, considered his career had a lot of up and downs with charges and the HW cocaine accusation he got absolved,it is going to be really better for his career and his performances,he is one of my fav HW,i really love his fight style

Don't actually have that many such fights :/
I think we get good fights on a pretty steady drip though.

Petro vs a top guy without someone being injured before the fight :D
Jianliang vs. a top guy (more likely to be a Japanese one I think).

Then something like a Moiseev vs. Jauncey that should tell us a lot. Moiseev vs. Jaraya would have been nice to see too.

1. Yodanklai vs Sittichai
2. Verhoeven vs Londt/Wilnis
3. Holezkin vs Kyshenko/Lidon
4. Yodsanklai vs Buakaw FTR
5. One night heavyweight tournament
6. Kaew vs Adamchuk
7. QJL vs Tetsuyo Yamato
8. K-1 vs Glory or Kunlun

Qiu vs a tough japanese guy is a good pick,i think Noiri can defeat Qiu without too much problems TBH,but a guy like Kaew can have a lot of problems to fight against a high volume striker as Qiu

what you guys know about Saki injury?

cant wait to see him back taking a good challenge

He really gives Kaew trouble? From what I've seen of Jianliang he looks like one of those good bad fighters. Gets wins but is not too impressive. I don't know, maybe I'm not seeing him at his best.

He should rematch that random American guy who beat him in Las Vegas off of a BS knockdown.

because he is a high volume puncher, not a good puncher as Minoru who cut angles on his combination and have big punch power, but he trade fast and it can prejudice Kaew fight stance, tending it to brawl as what happened with Jomthong in their second fight

Jomthong looked not giving a fuck about their rematch and he looked uninterested on work to defeat Qiu on their fight, but it is always a risk fighting with a guy like Qiu,i think is a much more Risk to Kaew a fight against Qiu than guys like Yamazaki or Kubo,if Kaew can impose his stance with 1,2 combinations and knees he can win it and even knock down Qiu as Jomthong made, but if he start it too passive it is just a gift to Qiu best weapons, tend things to brawl and slugfest where Qiu speed is crucial in all of his good victories

I think at this point Qiu's craziness would still get shut down by Kaew. Qiu is improving rapidly though.

Bump. Cool to reread this. A lot of these fights happened.

We never got Saki vs Vakhitov or Buakaw vs Yodsanklai though, and I wonder if there would even a point at this stage.

Yeah I think the ship has sailed on those ones. Saki is way past his prime, Yod is retired, and Buakaw is at least semi-retired.

Wonder what happened to Saki. He apparently signed a deal with Glory, but he`s not in the cards. Shame that Tyrone Spong refused Glory`s offer.

it sucks that Yod retired, i was hoping so much for him on his supposed KB career.

Buakaw vs Yodsanklai is gone but anything above ~80kg is so thin, if any promoter can pick up Saki’s corpse and set him up against a viable opponent, it will be a big fight.

For me at this point it's -

1. Tenshin vs Takeru - All but dead
2. Superbon vs Marat - Possible
3. Rodtang vs Superlek - No idea
4. Noiri vs Pikeur - Possible
5. Jianliang vs Capitan - Hard to say
6. Kryklia vs Opacic - Possible
7. Hamicha vs Menshikov - Likely
8. Superbon vs Petchmorakot - Unlikely

It's so depressing to know we never got Buakaw vs Yodsanklai. I'd even take that fight in their current state, but it wont happen. Looks like Takeru vs Tenshin is going the same direction sadly.
:(
