That’s debatable. Both historically and even to this day, many people,Russians included, don’t consider Russians to be European, even if a large part of Russia is geographically in Europe. Recent polls show 2/3 or more of Russians don’t consider themselves to be European.

Putin himself stresses the Russian’s multiethnic background in his speeches. For a long time, it was pretty standard to consider them semi-Asiatic, and it was even a point of pride for Russian nobleman in tsarist times to stress their Mongolian ancestry.

The fact we expand to the west is irrelevant to say we've similarities with Mexico, is the same as you saying(ironically) russian culture have more to do with yukis than poles or other slavic people, because they colonize Siberia. Nothing at all the same.

If we're being honest, on average, South Africans probably check those boxes more than most other immigrants. Individuals should still be vetted to see if they're worth bringing in, regardless of color.

Definitively agree with this, if South Africans want to leave their country because of violence and prove they are going to be contributing to society they should be granted asylum.

But i don't think it should only be about race, im sure there are also a lot of black, Indian and colored South Africans are tired of the violence and would like to move elsewhere.

If they're not a burden on the taxpayer and can respect our laws then they should be able to. But I don't think taking in X amount of minorities for the sake of racial equity is a good idea either. Only those who can fit in and contribute should be let in, I don't care what the demographics look like. If that means a lot more of one group than another, then so be it. Correct, and that list of countries that 90 day pause was for was from the Obama administration as countries harboring and exporting terror threats to the west.
