The founding fathers came after colonial America had already existed for close to 200 years.Was never really a melting pot. The founding fathers clearly had a preference for european protestant immigration, either you disagree with that or not, it’s a fact. It’s also a fact America largely developed thankfully to that immigration in particular.
As I mentioned in another thread, New Amsterdam (New York City) already had 20+ languages being spoken in it by the 1640’s. Not just European either. North African, from Sephardic Jews, Muslims, and languages from the Levant etc were also being spoken.
There were other homogeneous colonies, where Swedish Quakers, or some bullshit like that, set up some safe space in Bumblefuck.
Guess which colony prospered the most?
