Every company I have ever worked for has gone out of business after I left except for walmart, who fired me for wearing flip flops to work.

    Century Theaters
    Hollywood Video
    Blockbuster Video
    Sportsmart
    Sports Authority
    Prom Dress Store

Im the grim reaper of businesses.

Anyone else racked up such an impressive kill list? Wally World dodged a bullet

I was working at Circuit City when the downfall began but left the states before the full collapse happened. I heard from co-workers that it was brutal and they went after/ laid off the employees that had been there the longest in order to create a new culture.

I went there to buy RAM for my computer once and the computer guy said "im not sure what that is, what is it for?" and I walked out. As I walked out I saw the RAM chips on an endcap. I grabbed one and went to the computer guy and said "this is RAM".

I worked in the warehouse and only loaded things for customers. Funny story; I was got drunk when I was young and tried to fight this guy, he slugged me and I was done. Later while working for CC I had to load a TV for him and he was super nice. Forgiveness!

Why would someone with computer knowledge be working in retail for minimum wage? Unrealistic expectations.

It wasn't minimum wage. When I worked there they had guys that also worked for Microsoft moonlighting in their CPU department. I think his experience occurred after the initial collapse and attempted revival.

At sports authority I sold a $100 warranty to a guy buying a Bowflex which already had a lifetime warranty and he gave me a $20 tip for personally loading it for him because I was the manager. Plus I got my $10 commission for selling the warranty. Those were the days

Bullshit. Microsoft was a notoriously difficult place to work in any capacity in that timeframe. No one was moonlighting for anyone or anything except sleep if they worked there.

I lucked out and sold Luke Ridnour, former NBA player, a TV and got a $90 commission. Plus he gave me a $100 tip.

We had dudes that would come up for the weekend and work at my store. They had the best sales and the most relaxed attitude.

Payroll cost cutting is quicker when you cut the long term guys who got raises every year just because they didn't get fired. Shitty people's pay shouldn't keep rising just because. I'm thinking of a dumb shit admin staff person who didn't get fired for many years but sure ain't worth a lot of money.

This alleged person, used to deliver pizzas and collect coupons from friends and family for roundtable every week. then, when he/she would deliver pizzas and the person didnt have a coupon because they didnt know there was a coupon, this person would then take the full amount of money and then add a coupon to the sale and pocket the savings. and make like $250 a weekend. More money than they actually made delivering pizzas.
