I never realized just how big that fight really was. I think 56,214 is the record live attendance for any MMA event in history.
Also, 1.1 million PPV buys, thats 1.1 million households (including large families, bars etc)

Just look how big and how loud the crowd is.
It was also watched by many celebrities, who tweeted their reactions and drew more atention to Ronda's downfall.

Incredible there was actually a debate about who would win, rousey or floyd. The biggest tards really are found on sherdog

This place was pandemonium when it happened.

Probably the biggest moment in WMMA history.

Life is stranger than fiction, POTUS was trolling RRR! Live attendance was a UFC record, but Pride had 80-90k gates back in the day

How ironic,

The biggest and best moment in WMMA history is its most mainstream star burning up on reentry to reality.

I love it.

Forget about the PPV buys or the stadium attendance. Rousey vs. Holm was the top 10 most searched terms on Google in 2015.

Rousey was also the 3rd most searched celebrity in 2015 as well as the most searched athlete, followed by Holly Holm at #2, and Stephen Curry at #3

Think about that for a second.

I was there live. It felt like time stopped when that kick landed. Such a crazy moment.

Yeah theres a downside to being extremely famous and popular. When you fall, the whole world will watch

i think it shows MMA fans sit at home on their computer a lot more than the average sportts fan....

I probably watched that fight 2-3 times that night.

Well MMA is still kind of a niche sport personally, I get online to talk about the sport because I know very few people who are knowledgeable about it. It's easy for me to call or meet people who know basketball and football, not the case with MMA.

Sucks Holly has only won one fight since Rousey. Crazy to think she would have still been champ had she waited for the rematch and never fought Tate.

I've been watching fights at my local sports bar since maybe 2012 or so. That finish was the only time I actually jumped out of my seat.

yeah, holly will never experience that intense euphoric feeling she got when she knocked out rousey.
even if she wins, it will never be the same as when she dethroned ronda.
at least it was great while it lasted

i agree. i went to university in the mid west in the mid 2000s when the UFC was ramping up. because of all the wrestling in the midwest I knew a lot of people who liked MMA. now living on the coast, it is much harder to find MMA fans in real life. in an area of over 5 million people, there is not a bar that plays events within 20 miles of where i live these days. many people i know think it is fake like WWE or cannot even differentiate between UFC and WWE.
