5 year old white belt test

THe kid had better technique then some of the people I have rolled with. He will be awesome when he grows up.

This kid has sloppy technique and lacks any explosiveness. His closed guard is non-existent and his overall guard work was subpar at best. He repeatedly failed to lock in a triangle from the guard even though the other guy practically gives it to him. When he took the guy's back, he failed to secure the hooks and applied the RNC incorrectly. He needs to go back and train harder perhaps his parents should send him away to BJJ summer camp in Rio to improve his skills.

This is funny and all, but I have heard the exact same line of conversation from parents/adults about kids playing hockey or soccer at 5 years old. They were serious, thinking they could spawn the next Gretzky or something to help pay the bills. Send the kids to camp, practice all the time etc. I am sure there people doing it for BJJ and other martial arts. Hell it happens for sure in Thailand.
