Michael Johnson keeps Ultimate Fighting Championship fans guessing.

A hot-and-cold competitor if there ever was one, “The Menace” will ride the rollercoaster of inconsistency into his UFC Fight Night 223 lightweight showcase with Diego Ferreira on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Johnson, who turns 37 in June, has won two of his past three bouts. The Kill Cliff Fight Club representative last appeared at UFC on ESPN 42, where he laid claim to a three-round unanimous decision over Marc Diakiese on Dec. 3. The win moved him to 13-14 inside the Octagon.

Michael Johnson is like a cute fat girl.

Could look incredible with cherry picking and the right angles but as a whole it's mediocre.

Wins over

Tony
Barboza
Poirrier
Darriush (robbery)

and Tuf finalist

Stopped betting for/against Johnson a long time ago because of the hot-and-cold

Instead like og Jim Miller I just root for the guy to win

It feels like he knocked out Poirier in some alternate dimension

It didn't even make sense at the time lol. Johnson was coming off a year layoff after getting schooled by Nate Diaz while Dustin was destroying solid guys at LW.

And what a vicious KO that was.

Dustin has a hell of a chin as well and went down like a sack of turds. It's crazy to think it even happened let alone how viciously and brutal.

"Alternate Universe" Michael Johnson is one of the best LWs: beat tony, dustin, tibau, barboza, and beneil....finished gaethje instead of letting him off the hook in round 2, and got a fight with conor.

I imagine he's somewhere out there being talked about as a rank squatter and sitting cage side with a dime

You never know who's gonna show up -- the dude that iced off a prime Poirier or the dude that got choked out by purse thief Reza Madadi

Michael Johnson is the fastest lightweight ever. Yes a 50/50 fighter who’s beaten elite competition and lost to guys he should’ve beat, but his speed and power are unreal when he’s turned on.

I feel like Prime Poirier happened post Michael Johnson, thats when he developed very good blocking and striking defense.

Had lots of potential but he often found a way to lose unfortunately. Had some great fights. Respect on his career.

Fighting. He got power and landed it. Just one good moment was enough
