Went to the doctor, he gave me some pills, and said Neosporin will work just as good as any other cream, and recommended it above all. He said it should be healed up by Saturday (NAGAs). I started taking the meds yesterday (Monday). Any other things I can do to speed up the recovery process? Also, should I go to a dermatologist and ask to be prescribed another cream to use thats better? I'd appreciate any help or advice you guys have. I've been training with all my heart for the last 4 months for this tournament and missing it would be devastating.

I will not be attending the tournament if it is not fully healed. Thanks for the help,
Glenn

I always thought staph was pretty serious stuff, not just a little ringworm.

pop it and let it ooze all over you - then enter the tournament get ready to fight...

Even if you lose, your likely to leave the winner with something to remember you by.

On a side note ways to speed up the healing is avoid all types of sugars, including fruits. But especially processed sugars like High Fructose Corn Syrup - they feed the infection. Keep a clean, and lean diet.. and you could greatly increase the recovery time.

Also you could ask a Derma for a cream to help elimate staph.. faster - Swab your Nose hairs, and eye lashes where staph collects.

Keep clean - stay dry - dont re wear any clothes - wash bed sheets in hot water

neosporin will help speed up recovery..

Drink a lot of water to help flush your system

If it is impatego staph infection it will be gone in 3 days most likely.

At least you're responsible enough to not compete if it doesn't improve. Hope you get over it in time, bro.

In what area is your staph located? I had it a couple of years ago underneath my arm and it kept re-occuring. What ultimately helped me was after my sores had healed I washed the area with hydrogen peroxide every day. Hydrogen peroxide is a very effective anti-bacterial. The staph did not re-occur after I started that treatment.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Ill definitely put them to use. Hope to be healed up in time!

Where is your staph located? Just to be nice to the other guys, I would tape it up well so I won't spread it.

staph is fuckin dangerous man rest, antibiotics, rest antibiotics, no alchohol at all.
if you wear yourself out it takes control and gets worse

I would reccoment a dermatologist, i went to a regular doc for jock itch, and he gave me some cream and its still as bad as ever... different topic but the same thing could happent o you. I hope you compete, im doing hte tournament but on sunday. Good luck.

i used tinactin, and was constantly swabbing my nasal hairs,if you burn the candle at both ends you are fucking with your life!!!also you need the strongest antibiotic possible!!be f'ing careful!!!

Yeah taping off wherever it was is a good idea. What kind of tape should I use that won't come off when grappling? Also, someone said I should rest to speed up the healing, is this true? Ive been lifting weights at home and doing cardio while off the mat, should I stop this?
Thanks.

Duct tape multi layred in small pieces. Dont just try to warp one long piece again and again.. Cut it off into 4-5inch pieces and over lap them slightly apart.. That way if one piece gets loose the others keep on sticking.

Collodial Silver and Tea Tree Oil will work wonders and can be found in combo at virtually any health food store. If it were me I would supplement with Garlic, Astragalus, and a good multi-vitamin. I realize this is alate post considering the time frame but its worth try. Taping it off is a good idea but may not be enough. If you decide to go this route I would bring some isopropyl alcohol with me and continuously clean the infected/ previouls infected area and the tape covering it.

If you have an active staph infection, you should NOT be in physical contact with others at all, and you should not be active. The bacteria are all over you, not just the sore spot where they have penetrated.

Did you doctor take a culture of it? What did the lab results say? Is it an all-sensitive strain?

When you sweat the bacteria smear all over you and anyone else you are in contact with. Even when you shower it spreads, and when you towel yourself off, the towel is a sponge that spreads it.

I got it 2 years ago, on my knee, after rolling at a place where 2-3 other fighters came down with it. I was on intravenous antibiotics twice a day for a week, and on a variety of pills, too, for ten days. Two of the fighers had holes the size of golf balls where the staph ate into their legs.

Staph is dangerous and very contagious, and you are risking your own health/life for a game, and worse risking a number of other people you are in contact with.

Sit it out until you are healthy and NOT infectious.

If I was a ref and saw you on the mat with tape on, I'd disqualify you. If I was a lawyer and knew you had an active staph infection and was in the competition I'd bring criminal charges for public endangerment, and a heavy civil lawsuit to take everything you own.

spread it - like butter on bread.

its called "population control"

Gonna go pick up some tea tree oil, Astralagus, and Garlic supplement. Thanks guys.
