Everyone talks about Fedor, GSP, and Anderson as the top GOATs, but who are 4th and 5th members of the Top 5?

I'd put Hendo in there. Guys like Royce, Chuck, Hughes, Randy, Tito, Sakuraba, Vitor etc. would be in the conversation too.

It's tough trying to determine who was an all-time great, you have to look at more than W-L and consider what they did to bring MMA to the point where it is today.

Kazushi Sakuraba without a doubt.
Royce Gracie simply due to the impact he had on the sport for everyone who watched the first few UFC's.

It's basically an unqualifiable discussion that'll never be more then pure speculation. Most of these fighters are in their primes at different times, fighting different opponents and for the most part not ever fighting any of the other top p4p candidates of all time. So it's basically a fruitless debate that'll ultimately go nowhere.

Jones for sure. I use to hate the guy but after the Gus fight he won me over. he is one tough SOB

Fedor's not in the top 3 Jones is. Hendo is 4th IMO with Machida or Hughes being fifth.

First of all, great topic--an interesting question I often ask myself.

4th is Minotauro
5th is Hendo
6th is Hughes

But it's not as definitive as the top three. Bas, BJ, Wanderlei are in the mix. While Jones, Aldo, Demetrious, Barao, Cruz, and Velasquez are climbing fast... and may be up in that mix too.

So you have Machida ranked above Fedor?

Yeh. Faced stellar competition won 8 UFC fights in a row and besides Jones and Shogun was never finished. Scary thing is he's not even done yet and is now making a play for the MW title.

I like Machida a lot, but I wouldn't put him in the top 10 all time.

I love me some Machida, but man you have to willfully forget or be ignorantly unaware of most of MMA history to put Machida anywhere near the top5 p4p now. My guess is the latter.

Let's see how the rest of his MW run goes first, k?
