Doesn't have to be straight punches. Power hooks is very effective and used a lot in street fights. Not many street fights have straight punches, those punches come from people with training (but even trained pro fighters don't throw straight punches either), but a lot throw haymakers (which are wide power hooks/overhands).

a real fight is different from a sport fight, it is more primitive usually if it is defined in Striking a real fight.

90% of fights start with Striking in the street.
