Why can't people swear on the UFC broadcast?

They are grown men literally trying to knock each other out or break an arm or choke them out but they have to mind their language? What is the point of that also considering most MMA fighters have been to jail so they are not the holiest of people I wouldn't think they never use bad language.

This is fine but we can't swear kids might bee watching
 
There's this thing called the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It's a federal regulatory body that monitors the airwaves for things like profanity, but more specifically for obscenity.
If someone curses live on the air, the network can be fined for each incident, and it's not necessarily cheap.
This does not apply to PPV, and the infractions are more severe earlier in the day. There is some more leniency for prime time and late night programming.
