I havent seen 2 fighter so similar with multiple weight classes separating them before

theyre very similar fighters

- both tall for the weight
- due to a skinny frame and height, both of them have horrific TDD
- great at scrambling, hit switches nasty guard and submission/kicks offback
- diverse and dynamic striking arsenal, knees, punches, kicks, elbows, clinch
- can sit down and land clean but often go for wild strikes that gets them to bad positions at times
- have a submission weakness and to pressure grappling/being held against the fence

biggest difference is prime Carlos had far better cardio and an adamantium chin. Corys chin is good but hasnt been tested to anywhere close to what Carlos was

They fight nothing alike at all. Condit fight very tall and always blitz in with his head straight up in the air and on the centerline.

Sandhagen is so much better defensively and a much better counter striker.

Corys defense isnt very good himself. Got dropped and nearly finished by Iuri. Arguably lost to Lineker when he fought someone who could counter or get through his jab. He was eating alot of strikes in that one.

Fighting a shot Marlon and the ghost of Frankie are 2 of the few fights where he didnt get hit but they dont tell much at all. Even a past prime Assuncao whos a counterstriker landed plenty on him

Cory isnt a good counterstriker either. Carlos wasnt great himself but neither are particularly good on the counter.

Cory was like 26 when he fought lineker. And he still beat him. And assuncao is one of the best counter striker in BW. And even then he still got mostly tooled by sandhagen on the feet.

sandhagen isn't a good counter striker? Did you watch his fight yesterday?

Yes he landed a few good counter hooks and a couple jumping knees that's about it. The knees are his only consistently good counter tool throughout his career. TJs gameplan was to pressure on the front foot all fight b/c him and Bang said Cory isnt much of a threat as a counter striker. Watch how prime TJ approached an actual elite counter striker in Assuncao compared to Cory he was walking him down all fight despite a bad cut and jacked up knee.

Cory “can’t check a legkick” Sandhagen lol

How ironic that a one legged fighter put a kicking clinic on him… please put a little respect on Condit, Cory is not on his level.

It's funny you two are talking about Cory's counter striking. Megan asked TJ yesterday what the plan was to beat Sandhagen and he said, "cory isn't much of a counter striker. Put him on his bicycle and you can kind of do what you want"

Now i don't necessarily agree, but it's worth noting that Lineker and TJ and even Aljo had a lot of success after they got sandhagen on his backfoot circling away.

Cory “the natural born backwards runner” Sandbaggin

Its hard to take you seriously when Cory made TJ go 1/17 on takedowns.

Did you watch the fight? TJ was on one leg after the 1st round and those stats are dubious too. He just controlled and took his back to the cage alot he didnt have 17 TD attempts.

And he prove TJ wrong countering him up on the back foot.

Well, i agree tj was wrong that he obviously couldn't "do whatever he wanted" but he's not wrong when suggesting that if you get Cory backing up, it's easier to deal with him. Cory is obviously dangerous everywhere, but fighters who have had success against him have had that success while pressuring him

For some reason they didn't count Cory's failed granny rolls that led him to being controlled on the mat as a takedown, despite cory doing those rolls as his (failed) means of TDD.

Also, that was a one legged TJ.

Prime Condit was raw toughness, cardio, high volume, awkwardness and some creativity. I see some overlapping qualities like Cory also being tough as hell but still definitely with plenty of differences. Cory is a much more calculated and technical striker, but way less volume. Condit got into a lot firefights, but pretty much nobody was beating him in a firefight in his prime.

He's not a manlet at all but I get what u mean.

Condit is not on the level you think he is and he never was. He's lost so many times at this point lol

Na Lineker got robbed.

Lineker beat cory 29-28 and the fight finished with Cory in the process of being finished via choke after getting blown up by a huge strike. Lineker basically beat his ass

Your opinions are crazy man. Every one of your threads is you reaching to try to make some great point no one ever thought of. Literally read the title of your thread, that in itself is a massive illogical reach of a statement. You have too much time on your hands

Lol except Frankie

He has 14 losses tho lol. No need to get into fire fights with a guy you can TD at will. Condit is overrated af, I'm sorry lol
