Triller has been killing it lately and the YouTuber fight scene is dominating all the headlines. Askren getting destroyed and Woodley making the biggest payday of his life are terrible optics. Dana's hostility towards the Paul brothers suggests he is deeply concerned.

If Conor loses and retires the UFC could be in serious trouble. People will say "The UFC will be survive, it always has" but the landscape is changing rapidly and this YouTube thing isn't going away, the UFC could become the new myspace if they don't adapt.

Brand > Fighters, yes they wont make as much but they will continue to, its not like Poirier wont get any of the draw by beating him twice.

This is why they have always promoted the UFC over any fighter.

How many people only know MMA as UFC and couldn't name another org.

Casuals only know UFC which is better for long term business.

Back in the day, the UFC was about competitors from very different backgrounds fighting, some of which were “freak show fights” with big size mismatches potentially. As the sport has grown the UFC has focused more on legitimizing MMA and it’s resulted in very well matched, well balanced, equally skilled fighters competing (generally speaking of course).

Triller, The Pauls, and to a lesser extent the recent Tyson fight have embraced the “WTF is going to happen here” aspect that the UFC use to have.

I’m not saying the UFC should abandon their current system, but I’m sure they could benefit greatly in some of these “WTF” type fights, and possibly even one night tournaments.

The UFC will just turn to more freakshow fights if they ever get in trouble... like Paul logan versus CM punk or some shit...

All it takes is one loss to shake that fragile train, the UFC on the other hand is receiving guaranteed money on the first 500,000 buys for each PPV.
If that was true Logan Paul losing to KSI wouldn’t have resulted in him fighting Mayweather. The beauty of these weird matchups is that you don’t necessarily expect the fighters to be evenly matched, you’re watching for the drama and entertainment.

The ufc can't allow Conor to lose.

Sad but true

Not worried at all. They learned from Affliction, EliteXC and many other defunct promotions that you can’t build a promotion based on one fighter only. Brock, Gsp, Honda, Chuck…. they all left and the ball kept on rolling.

Triller is basically the Affliction of boxing. They're getting a lot of attention, but by all reports they are losing money. If they can't turn it into profit soon they're going to be just another flash in the pan.

If Chuck loses how screwed is the UFC?

If Brock loses how screwed is the UFC?

If Ronda loses how screwed is the UFC?

The UFC is not screwed.
This basically. I’d also add losing GSP and Silva losing his title to that. People wondered how the sport would fair without two of its most dominant champions. Every marketable star loses and fades at some point and the same will happen to Connor sooner or later.

First of all, Triller is getting ratings but losing money so they are not killing it.

Second, Conor loses all the time now and The UFC seems fine.
