Their first fight in 2019 was arguably the best matchup of the year. The rematch will arguably be the best matchup this year. Both guys are young, in their physical primes still, and besides Anderson Silva, they are arguably the best to ever do it at 185. Both undefeated at 185 outside of their match.

For middleweight I'd say the closest duo might have been Weidman/Rockhold but they both proceeded to continuously get KTFO after their match.

What about other divisions? At 205 I'd say Jones/DC. Maybe Aldo/Mendes at 145???

Aldo - McGregor.

Jose was the long-reigning unstoppable champ and Conor was destroying and KO'ing people left and right.

Aldo-Mendes 2 is another great example. Chad like Conor, was KO'ing and destroying people left and right.

My distaste for Fitch would not allow me to list him but great example. He was probably NEVER gone get that rematch though.
At one point in time, around UFC 120... GSP was #1 at 12-2 in the UFC and Fitch 13-1 in the UFC.... Doubt you can find another 1 2 punch with combined 25-3 record in prime....

Sterling and Yan before the fight had a better combined record

Fedor and Nog by far

They had a combined 60-2-1 record excluding fights VS each other to start their careers. 1 NC in an illegal cut stoppage, 2 split decision losses. Hendo loss for Nog was a widely considered robbery he avenged decisively by finishing the rematch. Barnett 1 SD loss in the GOAT HW fight that Nog avenged decisively by UD in rematch
