I only used fights that went over 2 rounds because that's how long the Poirier rematch was. Also I might have missed a few punches here and there

#1 McGregor vs Holloway (in the first 8-9 minutes) * not whole fight
Punches thrown: 53
Kicks thrown: 56

-Threw a lot more kicks as a featherweight
-Started becoming a lot more boxing / punch orientated after the Aldo win, not the 1st Diaz fight like many believe
- When standing for at least 8 minutes, he threw the least amount of kicks against Poirier in the rematch (highest ratio)

What was the ratio for Mcgregor Poirier 1?

His kicks worked pretty well to set up his punches. Maybe he doesn't like throwing them that much after he went up a weight class. Interesting analysis.

Dustin also took him down and didn't gas like Mendes

Conor used kicks primarily to mask his left hand kill shot.
Sure, handplant spinning heel kicks to mask the left hand. Come on man, shit was ineffective. He actually got more successful at the higher levels when he stopped spamming those bullshit kicks. Look at his performance vs eddie for instance. That guy would kill the guy who beat holloway.

I agree with what you're saying. I never said that version of Conor was better than the Eddie one. Just stating his intentions of throwing a shit ton of different ineffective kicks. Some of them were effective though.

Remember when he fucked Mendes body up with teeps and finished him off with that left? Remember when he stunned Brandao with that spinning kick and finished him off with that left? Remember when he opened up with a spinning kick vs Poirier, threw a range of different kicks only to finish him off with the left?

That's what masking is. Throwing different techniques before using your specialty. Conor did that with Nate too the first fight and it backfired. Turned out throwing a fuck ton of kicks while getting jabbed in the face is bad for you, so Conor evolved.

Nah, some of you guys are crazy. FW Conor was a lot more versatile than what we saw at 155. Conor just got lucky with a 5 foot 6 wrestler wanting to strike with him.

His cardio definitely became an issue when he moved up and by the time he won the belt Conor decided to skip town to focus on a fight with Mayweather

FW Conor was so much more mobile and his kicks were really good at killing his opponents rhythm.

The version who fought Dustin the second time around was an one dimensional flat footed striker

conor was never a heavy kicker, it was all to control distance and setup his hands. Now that hes fell in love with his hands, he gets pressured and no longer has control of fights anymore. he had some of the nicest teeps when he threw them right up the center and could back a guy off. Sadly you dont see that anymore, the speed, precision is all lost because of the stardom with his left hand power... he still has that but he doesnt have all the other parts that made that left so lethal.

Conor thinks he's One Punch Man Saitama, but he couldn't even drop an old guy sitting on a bar stool.

When you fantasize about being a boxer you stop kicking
