The GOOF strikes again:Hiding fighter salaries for 261

It’ll be funny when it comes out the Paul brothers are not only KO’ing over the hill UFC guys but making more than them too. Sad.

This isn't a surprise, aren't like 3/4 of the purses not disclosed? Far as I know only a handful of commissions actually release them. And even then it is only what the commsiion holds for them, it very well couldn't even be the full agreed upon pay

Most major places historically did release purses, but that's been changing with UFC lobbying. Obviously, it doesn't matter if Iowa is or isn't releasing purses if Nevada isn't. The other issue is boxing promoters are required to turn over all side deals to the commission, where mma promoters do not. While that doesn't seem that significant, it's important in that it pretty much guarantees a leak to the media of overall pay. Which is something the UFC has fought for obvious reasons.
Who cares? Why are you people so obsessed with this shit? Just watch the fucking fights. If the pay is bad they will go away to another promotion, but they are not going away, are they? Enjoy MMA and stop bitching ffs
The whole "mma is a free market, fighters can decide where to go" is predicated on employers and employees having equal information. Not disclosing purses is a big impediment to that competition since most fighters just don't know how little money they make in the big picture.

He wouldn’t block it if there wasn’t a reason. Especially now since the Jake Paul vs Ben Askren numbers have been released.
Yeah, the reason is to make it as hard as possible for fighters to have the information that helps them negotiate and ultimately keep fighter pay down for promoters. Arguing fighter payouts are "trade secrets" is a really big stretch.

UFC didnt become a billion dollar company by giving away its trade secrets

do you even business?

So tell us the pay for all the major boxing fights in 2021

Which ones are you asking for? The bills that the UFC has lobbied for usually also benefit boxing promoters, if they want to take advantage of those loopholes.

LOL the Pauls are making way more money than most UFC fighters.
By a long shot. Ben said just his base of $500k for the Paul fight was more than his entire Bellator career and more than any of his UFC fights.
