GSP on Michael Bisping’s podcast

So they can't agree on the weight. At 41:41, he says Khabib is the same size as him or probably bigger, and he wakes up at around 183lb (so the same/less than Khabib).

The fact that Khabib expects GSP to make 155 is kind of a bitch move ngl, he's almost 40. You would've thought he'd be more flexible to make his dream fight happen.

GSP doesn't wanna fight at 155 and Khabib doesn't wanna fight at 170, I believe.

Can we please stop talking about that bullshit GSP/Khabib match.

It's really annoying.
GOATS can cohabit.

That Khabib is so adamant about GSP coming down just shows how much he respects George's skillset. He's smart in doing so; you want every advantage possible when you're taking on someone that dangerous.

GSP is kind of the bitch for bitching about this. If the UFC offered him $30 million (which is financially viable because the PPV would do at least 1.5 million buys and Khabib would likely accept this fight for $10 million, maybe even less because he has said it's his dream fight), GSP would take it in a heartbeat.

Winning a UFC belt in a third weight class and becoming the first person to defeat a guy who has looked absolutely unbeatable would be amazing for GSP's legacy. If he loses, his current legacy stays intact (because who cares if a 39/40 years old loses) and he's $30 million richer. If the weight cut would affect his performance that much, then lose some muscle mass to make it easier.

Thanks for sharing. Listening to it now.

Seen a bit of it, to know they only talk about mma for like 15m while the rest is just banter about other irrelevant crap they push for you to care about..Not my cup of tea.
It’s a 2 hour podcast, it’s the best mma podcast around

There's no way GSP could beat Khabib even if they did the fight at 170 and GSP knows this. He's just acting as if he's still eager to compete when there's no way he wants any part of a monster like Khabib

Or - the other away around.
Gsp is in incredible shape at 39. 39 not 49. Ok, hes already tucked tail of all the talk on how he could make 155 and be just fine. Hes since changed his mind and realized khabib has gotten bigger and better. Even at a catch ( that's fair), khabib is a significant favorite and gsp would just continue with lip service .
It's not happening. The state of the depth of 170 division, gsp could come back tomorrow at 39 and , easily, be a top 10 welter .

With all due respect, it's a bitch move on Khabib's part. GSP was already established as one the GOATs before anyone ever heard of a Khabib.

It's bad enough you want a 40+ year old inactive fighter. At least fight him where he's best.

I'm not arguing for or against the competitive morality of the weight issue, just substantiating and expanding on why it's an issue to both guys, and how it's wise to gain any advantage possible over your opponent. This is competition, and the concept of "fair and" honor" are very relative in such context.

It was refreshing to hear Poirier pronounced correctly by a French speaker

Then he's not facing GSP at his best. What's the point then?
